I am personally against zapping a DE storage, there is no strategy in this but just an acceptance that you can't farm DE.

Frankly I don't understand zappers, they wait for 1 n half hours to create 3 lightnings and take away something which quite does not return the investment.

I tried zapping few players when I was in TH7 just to see how effective it is, and for me it din't feel like a strategy, its boring and it does not return your investment.

I did all DE upgrades when I was in TH7 without zapping anyone. There are other strategies that will get you more DE and keeping things more challenging.

I like your idea of revenge.

Thumbs Up like the lightning rod.

We have joked about it for so long, actually ever since getting DE storage. Great idea for the rechargeable rod

expect outrage from those lazy DE farmers, like when hogs were nerfed, hog spammers complained that they could no longer 3 stars bases on clan wars

you cant generalize every de zapper as a lazy or incompetent de farmer, in some cases yeah. but i mean, i have zapped de, i have gotten de zapped from me, i mean usually, for the most part and i think some people can vouch for me, i do have a de farming army and im nexting, but if i see a maxxed th 10, rockin infernoes and xbows, with a full or half full storage, and i have lightning spells, yes i am going to zap that person, then quit, give em some free trophies and an opt to completely wreck my base

    Thumbs Up

I am a town hall level 10 and I am so tired of people up to 3 levels below me simply dropping a few archers and using lightning bolts to take up to 2 thousand dark elixir. Then when I go to revenge them ( if I actually get through) since I am so much higher a level i only stand to gain 5 trophies or a couple thousand resources. There is no incentive for me to even attack back, even if I get a 100% they only lose 5 or 10 trophies, i actually lose twice....even if I win the attack. This has become really disheartening and has taken away from the game for a great deal of players. If I may i actually have 2 suggestions to fix this. One; I would love to see a new defense to stop this. You could call them lightning rods and they would absorb the lightning attacks then be destroyed. The player would then recharge them when they log back on...sort of like a reverse trap. I am sure that this has been suggested before. My second idea is a little more complicated but more fun. You could make it so that for the revenge attack only ( so it would be a one shot deal) the person revenging the attack would be able to get a much larger portion of the resources from the lower level players. For that one attack I could take as many resources as if they were my town hall level. I know this sounds crazy but if you think about it, you don't pick a fight with a world champion boxer and expect not to get hit back....and get some serious consequences, why should they get a free shot at a higher level and their resources with no repercussions?
    What do you guys think?

    Thanks
I reckon these are both great ideas, personally I like the second one better. You obviously understand my situation because I have the exact same problem, noobs come take from us th10's with their lightning spells and get a MASSIVE LOOT BONUS and then we go and attack them and not only get ♥♥♥♥ all trophies (because they've screwed off back to where they belong in bronze) but we get TERRIBLE LOOT and cant recover what we lost! I really hope Supercell takes a good look at your post here.

they could call it the Kenpachi Patch

I believe zapping is good for the game because it is one of the few "big guy -vs- little guy" balancing dynamics that exist in CoC. Because of this I hate the idea of a lightning rod or anything else that is directly aimed at preventing zapping. I do believe there should be a trap or some mechanism that will defend against the use of ALL spells. One that could be used to protect your DE storage but may be more valuable if you deployed it in a way that would reduce the duration of rage or heal spells. It would be up to the defender to decide which they wanted to defend against the most and the attacker would need to take it into account when they decided to use their spells during the attack.

As for the other interjected idea I agree that there is huge room for improvement in the revenge mechanic. Being shielded from the person you attacked could go away and the loot penalty removed or possibly turned into a bonus regardless of TH difference. It would make zapping, dropping trophies, barching, etc. all a bit more selective. It would not stop them but it may make players second guess which fish in the pond they want to nibble on the tail of.

I think that people who use lightning spells to attack DE storages should have there town hall deleted, it is the most annoying thing in this entire game.

OP, what trophy range are you in?

The higher you push your trophies, the smaller the %age chance that you will come across both:

    1) a base with all lightning spells equipped
    2) lower th levels

So increasing your trophies helps to combat DE storage zappers in both ways mentioned just above. Just a helpful hint to deal with this strategy.

lol...zapping is part of the game.

I get frustrated as well when i build it up just to be zapped but hey...that's the nature of the game. A lightning rod could be a good defense addition but would have to have a narrow radius like maybe one structure.
