Lightning bolt raid has gone from annoying to just wrong!

I know that I am not the first to say this but... I am a town hall level 10 and I am so tired of people up to 3 levels below me simply dropping a few archers and using lightning bolts to take up to 2 thousand dark elixir. Then when I go to revenge them ( if I actually get through) since I am so much higher a level i only stand to gain 5 trophies or a couple thousand resources. There is no incentive for me to even attack back, even if I get a 100% they only lose 5 or 10 trophies, i actually lose twice....even if I win the attack. This has become really disheartening and has taken away from the game for a great deal of players. If I may i actually have 2 suggestions to fix this. One; I would love to see a new defense to stop this. You could call them lightning rods and they would absorb the lightning attacks then be destroyed. The player would then recharge them when they log back on...sort of like a reverse trap. I am sure that this has been suggested before. My second idea is a little more complicated but more fun. You could make it so that for the revenge attack only ( so it would be a one shot deal) the person revenging the attack would be able to get a much larger portion of the resources from the lower level players. For that one attack I could take as many resources as if they were my town hall level. I know this sounds crazy but if you think about it, you don't pick a fight with a world champion boxer and expect not to get hit back....and get some serious consequences, why should they get a free shot at a higher level and their resources with no repercussions?
    What do you guys think?

    Thanks

I don't particularly like the lightning rod idea, when cup pushing using lightning to scramble for 50% is a legit tactic; I don't want a lightning rod stopping that.

However, would like something done with revenge. Maybe the loot penalty is halved for revenge or something.

Say a TH8 attacks a TH10. They usually get 50% loot protection. This would reduce their loot protection to just 25%.

Give them some protection, but not as much. If you want to poke the bull, you get the horns.

I was thinking that the lightning rods would have limited range so they could protect a structure ( like my DE storage). I did not intend them to cover the whole base so they should not affect cup pushing. You could simply avoid that structure. But i do still like lifting the protection for the revenge...but it would probably mean more people using devices to stay logged in.

Definitely agre that something needs to be done, and I LOVE the revenge idea! Would make attacking actually dangerous.

Another idea would be to make the dmg lighting does NOT take any resources (unless it actually destroyed the building). Then on the next hit by a troop, all those resources would come out in one pop. So if your spell lowered the HP by 10%, the next troop to hit it would get 10% of the storages resources in that 1 hit.

But if no troop hits the storage, no resources are taken. That way lightning would still be effective in an actual attack, but do nothing otherewise.

I still like the revenge idea though.

The revenge idea is for sure the better of the two. If implemented right it would 1) give more reason to put TH outside, 2) stop/slow lightning raids, and 3) give more incentive to revenge.

It would effectively stop people from dropping lightning on storages... But also remember that it is widely accepted as a legitimate strategy (lightning spells on storages, that is) and there would be a lot of hate if it was removed/"nerfed". That's why I think revenging would work better.

A lot of people (the ones who agree on this) have a lot of hate and we think the lightning spell should be nerfed at resource storages, why aren't we pleased? lol

Ok I'm sorry if I'm sounding negative to this idea, that is not what I'm trying to do D: I think the majority should always be pleased, but I also think SC probably has bigger issues/updates in the fixing/making than a couple hundred DE (no offense!!). If the problem gets truly unbearable I'm sure they will change it, but currently you can just turn around and do the same thing to someone else to earn it back, so I wouldn't worry.
