It was assumed because she stated she has troops at level 5.

For starters, if your clan offers you no advice even though you are seriously asking (or don't even respond at all) then the number 1 thing to do is find a better clan.

After that, worry about upgrading Air defences to level 4+ (to deter clan war dragon attacks), mortars to level 6 (one shots lvl 6 archers), cannons to level 9 (three gold rings around the tube, one shots I think lvl 5 barbarians or something, not sure but this was a really useful upgrade).

then get your walls all to pink and after that don't worry about them too much, just upgrade them when you have the gold and/or time to get them higher. gold walls are garbage.

you're doing ok if you have 200 troop space and lvl 5 barbs/archers. it means you can farm very effectively with just about 50/50 combo of those troops at around 1250-1800 trophies.
