I would say get BK to 5 before doing anything else with dark elixir.

If i were you i would upgrade the Barbarian King to lv3. Once you get Barbarian King to lv5, you will enjoy you what you upgraded.

I did minions before bk3. Doesn't make much of a difference. Go with bk.
