Just because someone wants to have some fun on a game, does not make them a bad person. Or ♥♥♥♥♥♥ed ( nice word to use there... ).
Some people need to lighten up. At the end of the day, it is a game, it is their game, they are allowed to play it whatever way they choose ( within reason ).

Dont get me wrong, I want to encourage more people to start doing it.
That's 2-4 less defenses I have to deal with while I raid their loot.

When I have low resources I always trap mine. I have 4 teslas, two crossbows 2 mortars and an archer tower defending my town hall. People try and snipe, panic and drop a lot of troops. The amount of times I have seen people drop both heroes and the have them both die is hilarious.
Not once have I had someone destroy my base because I trapped my town hall LOL. You'll just have to face the fact that most people do not carry gowipe armies while sniping town halls.
Actually I have had people try to destroy it, but get like 10k of gold and elixir and 50 dark elixir.
Because half of the world is dumber than the average person.
I tried it the other night to show my clan what the new lvl 8 Tesla's were like. The guy threw his Archer Queen down then once she started getting zapped by all four Tesla's he freaked out, threw a Heal spell and a whole low level army to take down my town hall. It's pretty funny to watch but higher in cups especially you find players will snipe the town hall as well as try to grab whatever else they can grab a lot of the time. Having the TH lightly protected means less troops available for use on the actual base.
I see traps around an exposed townhall as very different than teslas. With traps, they cost the farmer gold and I don't see the point. With teslas they don't cost the farmer any gold when they pop up. As much as I like the free shield, the endless parade of low level players who snipe my townhall sometimes gets old.
They do it cuz they wanna be a-holes like that
