assuming you're a th8, well you can't do much
just keep your storage empty or farm at lower league to avoid them

You can't really defend at th 8. The attacker would have to be absurdly bad to lose to well placed spring traps or whatever else people are suggesting. Keep your resources low and get to th 9 relatively quickly where you finally have the defenses to stop farming armies from a th 1 above you.

lol dude we're on the same boat. but i do realized the situation on myself as a early TH8

see my point? if you're an early TH8 just like me, then u may follow my quote because Maxed TH7 Defenses (Cannon and AT lv8, Teslas lv3, Mortar lv5 and Wiz towers lv4) will never been enough to defend normally without help of funnelling against TH9 troops.

Jump to th9 too early and th10's will just stomp you. Good defences and a decent design will help. The best defence of all is to have no loot.

Its part of the game...cant help it...I get them too...but I dont worry much about it...a few things you can look into if you havent done them already

-town hall outside
-storages in separate compartments guarded by wizard towers
-dont bunch up ur storages in one area
-it doesnt matter if u have skulls around your storages coz most of the time archers will destroy your storages
-use ur skulls in places to slow down the giants...I have noticed skulls slow lvl6 giants considerably compared to purple.
-as most of the people said..funneling
-management of resources...use them up..dont leave them open for a long time

Dont worry much about elixir being stolen...you will have plenty of it going to waste anyways assuming you develop your base fully and do walls also

Last but not least..never under estimate the satisfaction of revenge lol...u can take a chunk out of those th9s with lvl3 drags or lvl4 hogs

You should target to funnel giants into traps. Most people place there traps in obvious places and people deploy 1 giant/barb to disarm them. don't keep them predictable. This is the only way how you can defend against massive giant based army.

also try to keep the additional fire out of the line from giants as they target the defenses first, keep other troops occupied with other building funnel them away from supporting giants.

This is the only way that works, and this too does not work 100%. there are players who know how to break the funnel, at least this is your best bet.

I am a level 6 giants attacker who hunt every TH8 who have rich storages!
It is very hard to defend against level 6 giants armies if you are attacked by 2 heroes and 4 spells and wizards
but i will give you some advice to defend against easy level 6 giants armies which is still very very hard
-Have a complex funelling layout with spring traps it annoys me when i attack bases like this
-MORTARS are your best weapon against that army make sure it is well protected and covering the base well
-Try to put a path for the giants to go in it while the rest of the troops (barbs,archers, or maybe gobs) go in another way without the disatraction of the giants
-Have well separated gold storages and DE near the core

Lol i found a way to defend against em and it was hilarious.
I'm trophy pushing so I just ask for lvl 6 balloons for attacking, I went offline and came back to see I won a def.
what happened was that my lvl 6 loons came out, those giants are also slow, and balloons do splash damage so those giants got taken out pretty fast haha
see if that works for you lol but it would mean you wont defend so good against other troops
