I think that it shouldn't cost gems to get builder huts the only way to get 1000 you have to pay, either make it so you can buy gems with coins or make the builder huts cost coins

would be terrible for SC. wouldn't affect the game too much. But gems is the main way SC makes money. if everyone was able to get builders without spending money, SC would lose out on a lot of profit.

Buying gems with coins is ruled out for obvious reasons. Builder huts with coins isn't going to happen, which should be also obvious.

You're also wrong about having to pay. There are enough gems available via achievements to get all 5 huts. You also get on average a few per day by clearing obstacles.
