Brand-new defensive building! The mortar that shoots spells!

I think, the 'spell-tar', would be a really fair, effective weapon that shoots different spells in the same fashion as the mortar. I have already thought of the effects of these new 'defensive spells'. They are up for debate, so please tell me what you think, I know many people have been wanting spells in defence.

Lightning spell: this spell is unlocked as soon as you build the mortar (similar to the spell factory). It is a lesser form of the normal spells, as it doesn't summon as many bolts.

Healing spell: summons a ring smaller than the regular version, and temporarily heals clan castle troops, Barbarian King, Archer Queen and defensive buildings.

Rage spell: enrage buildings, BK, AQ,and clan castle troops. Duh.

Jump spell: makes all ground units bounce, so they are attacked by the super powerful air defence. (All other ground troops only building, such as cannon, long ranged x-bow e.c.t 's shots will bounce up, hitting the enemy in the air)

Freeze spell: freeze enemy troops, making them useless for a period of time

Please tell me what you think of the arcane mortar, and maybe a name for it as well!

This seems real cool, there would have to be major balances,

The lightning spell should shoot 1 bolt and does like 40 dps

The heal spell show just heal all buildings in the radius with 200-300 heal points

The rage spell should rage buildings ect. for like 3 sec with 30% more dps and health

The jump spell doesn't really make sense.

The freeze spell should have a backfire aswell, to where it freezes def building to balance it out.

I think there should only be 1 of these mortars to keep it balanced, and should only be able to spit out 2-3 random spells during war.

    Great idea!

Yes, those balances are exactly what I was thinking, except for the freeze spell side-effects
The jump spell forces enemy units and ground-only projectiles (like cannon shots) to bounce. This makes all (or most) ground based enemy units to be attacked by air defence AND the usual turrets such as cannons, ground-set x-bow, mortar.

I hope that clears things up with the jump spell.

    Really good idea!

But don't make it a mortar. I have to admit, it is a little OP if it was a mortar and a spell shooter at the same time. It could be called the Spell Sprinkler!

It would be a small unit that activates after something in its range is attacked. It randomly shoots its different spells.

No. Spells are for the attacker's advantage, not the defender's. Not to mention the fact that this building would be very overpowered against the attacker.

The mortar shoots very slowly, and (new idea) it has to be loaded with a ton of gold to work, similar to x-bow (requires elexir) and inferno tower (needs dark elexir)

Maby it has a firing rate of 1/60, so it could only possibly shoot 3 times if a troop is deployed in range.

Also, (new idea) the player could choose which spell the mortar fires, like x-bow's ground target mode or ground and air. Also, I don't quite get what you mean by
"Spells are for the attacker's advantage, not the defender's."
If you think this weapon is overpowered, tell me why, not just what you think

The thing is, it isn't a mortar! It just launches it's spells in the same way as the motar. And it could also look like a mortar. But that's all

    Thanks for your feedback, though!

Sure? Spells are mainly for attack bases though, I don't see them being used on defense.
