Dark elixir troops vs BK

So I am at TH8, and am fairly close to maxing out my defenses; 2more ADs need to go from 5 to 6, and all 5 archer towers need to go from 9 to 10, cannons, wiz towers, and mortars are maxd for TH8, and all three teslas are currently upgrading from 5 to 6. I'll probably stick around for a week or two farming walls after the ADs and ATs are done.

Anyways, my BK is at level 5, minions are level 2, Hogs, Valks, and Golem level 1. During these last few weeks at TH8 will it help me more to keep using my DE to upgrade the BK, or should I start upgrading my Minions and Hogs?

Personally, I'd get the BK to 10.

But it's up to you. Do you plan on using alot of minions/hogs?

Even if yes, I'd still max the BK first. You also need to think about saving for the AQ if you plan to upgrade soon.

Do you clan war? I would upgrade hogs. Maxing your bk is pointless as you will be upgrading him longer than anything else in the game.

yea i 100% disagree... max ur bk out @ th8 (which is lvl10)
this way @ th9 u can focus on your AQ, just because something takes longer doesnt mean u should ignore it until the end, instead u should start it early so u can finish it faster, especially since @th9 when u can rly start using gowipe and gowiwi heroes often make a huge difference (especially in gowiwi)

if i were u, i'd keep bk goin til max while researching other elixir based troops, then when bk is max i would start upping the golem to lvl2, its one lvl and itll again help set u up for th9 cw raiding, and all that jazz.
then after bk and golem are out of the way minions.

you can lvl up hogs and valks, but if we are being honest here, valks are still a long way from being srsly useful, like they are good, but nothing special... and hogs, really havent been worth it since the update... lvling hogs is more of a waste imo, since u prolly wont use hogs after th8, and very early th9...

Do you even use hogs? They are the most three star consistent army until you face th10. Gowiwi is only necessary once you need to start fighting against infernos. And there is no reason to max bk at th8. For one you're going to be fighting to keep the de that is almost free to get as a th9, and a few levels on a bk can't even compare to the damage you can do with hogs. I'm going to assume you stopped using hogs ever since they made it mandatory that you actually use your brains with them.

Here's what I'm doing and why...
BK to 5 (for Iron Fist) > Minions (I'm BAM all the time and use minions in all my attacks) > Hogs (Why the hell not? Great strategy) > BK to 10 (Better Iron Fist, longer regen time though) > Golems (Really don't need them as a TH 8, but you'll want them for later)
And just forget about Valks.

Oh I remember being in your situation a few months ago. I leveled up my BK to 5 to unlock the ability. Then I started upgrading my minions. I don't ever use hogs or valks, so I left them at 1. By the time my minions finished, I was already a TH9.

Please, please don't ever delay your TH9 upgrade just because of your king. Two level 6 dark elixir drills will give you 4'800 dark elixir every 24h.
I'd just go for the TH9 upgrade right now. I tried maxing out my TH8 but ended up going to TH9 with everything maxed except for teslas (lvl4) and walls (50% lvl8). To make it short: Th9 only gives you advantages. I'm so glad I did not waste any more time at TH8 ;D

Yea iv been thinking about just upgrading now, but my walls are pretty sad (about 2/3 pink, 1/3 gold). Ideally I want to get them all up to purple before I jump up to TH9.

I would upgrade walls. Having gold walls as a th9 is just asking for every person to raid you. Vs level 5 and 6 troops, those walls might as well be non existent.

Yea that's what I was thinking. I'll probably be done with my defenses in 1-2 weeks, then I think I'll just spend a week and focus 100% on my walls until I at least am 50/50 with pink and purple walls, then go to TH9.
