Change Clan War Matchmaking From Trophy Count To Player Level (not TH Level)

Currently the matchmaking system pairs clans in war based on their total trophy count. In a recent war my clan got matched with a clan where they had a lvl 127 player TH10 who only had 1700 trophies. Their top six players were all at my level or higher, while I am the top leveled player in my clan.

Surely player level better reflects their strength than trophy count.

Clan war matchmaking is not based on trophies at all. It's based on defense levels, troop capacity, troop levels, etc.

What they said. It is some super secret calculation that takes into account the level of your troops and defensive structures. Trophies, levels and TH level are not included at all. The only thing trophies do is decide which of your members get to participate. The bottom 1-4 trophy players in your clan don't get to participate. Not sure if they are calculated into the matchup or not.

Based on the wars we've been matched in, this doesn't seem correct. Our trophy counts were very close, but we were seriously outmatched by the opposing clan. As I said, their top 6 players were as strong or stronger than my account, which is the top in my clan, and no one else in my clan was as strong as their top 6, they just had lower trophy counts.

This was a 15 v 15 clan war as well, not a 50 v 50.

Player levels matching is not ideal. I have the nearly the same level towers and buildings as a friend of mine. But he just donated a lot more troops (over 35000, I only donated 5000) and destroyed far more TH's. So our level difference is 12 levels...

Player level isnt fair anymore because level is now becoming who donates more is a higher level. And CW matchmaking is not based on trophy count its based on how even the bases are and of course no 2 clans are ever completely even.
