2 hr, 4 hr, and 8hr shield please!

I would think that there must be a bunch of threads requesting the ability to purchase shorter term shields than 1 day, but I did a few searches and didn't come up with anything, so here goes. (Is it just me, or is the search function on here pretty worthless? I used search and advanced search)

I would like to be able to purchase any or all of these shields; 8hr, 4hr, and 2hr.

Many of us active players can't help but break the long term shields we may already get from winning defensive battles, so we can farm resources for upgrades. A short term shield would be much more beneficial to me.

Sometimes I know I won't be able to check CoC at all that day at work. Sometimes I've been raiding for an upgrade and have waaayyy too much loot out there to be raided, but have something in real life to go do before I can start the upgrade.

To me, the long term shields just allow less active players to get by with minimal effort. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with playing more casually like this...

BUT, why not reward us die hard players with something that could actually help us?

Good idea (mixed emotions though). I have had it in the past where i need a bit more loot before an upgrade. Everything is maxed and you become a fat juicy target and will be raided as soon as you log off. It was a great sigh of relief and joy when i finally could commence my upgrade and use the hard earned loot.

*on the downside though, it does add to the suspense and drama of it all. It would also be a shame to lose that.

Thanks, and yeah I get that. I would hate for the day to come where it's too easy to protect your stash, and raiding is no good. But since there would be cool down periods after these and every shield, I don't think it would kill raiding. It would just help us out in a pinch, when real life gets in the way of our monstrous addiction that is this game.

No with lower shield durations and costs, more people would be shielding more frequently.

Even less bases with loot.

I have no problems getting frequent free 12 hour shields. Why pay for less?

I personally don't see much use in a shield that is only for a few hours. The shield you can buy now are perfectly fine and I would prefer getting a free 12 - 16hr shield from getting attacked than spending gems on one.

Thanks for the input guys.... But I rarely get a shield when I want it. And I can never use the 12 and 16 hours shields up because I want to play.

So for me, personally, I can benefit from shorter shields. I have not bought a shield yet, but I would if the lower ones were offered. It would only be every once in a while, but it would come in handy. I can say I doubt I will ever buy any shields available now. I'm playing this game because I like it. And I can bring it with me everywhere. So I don't see a need to shield for days unless you just don't want to play. If supercell wants to make money on shields, here's an opportunity.

With a a proper cool down, and the price being a few gems, I honestly dont think it will have much of an impact on raiding and looting.
