Why does gold 1 suck so much for loot?

I'm a newish town hall 8, I've gotten my new stuff to at least town hall 7 max, my new walls are pink (lvl 6 i think), I have one pekka barrack, upgraded my wizards to lvl 5, my drill is at level 2...the elixir and gold was great in gold 3&2, but now that I'm in gold 1 the only thing that is worth raiding is dark elixir. I'm getting at least 1k per raid with a giant/wiz/healer strategy (usually throw in a couple of valks bc they're excellent cheap meat shields for when I'm in the center of the base).

I'm almost at 1900 trophies. Is it worth it to try to get to crystal? And before someone says Barch or BAM...I absolutely suck using BARCH or bam.

It's just weird.. I was getting 400k loot per attack, and now I'm happy if I can find 300k lol. Since I'm so close, should I at least sniff out crystal, or shall I just go down for a little longer before going back up.

I was also thinking of trying to get to crystal for recruiting purposes on global lol.

Just want to hear from any town hall 8s in crystal to see how they're fairing up there.

it's because you are a NEW town hall 8. loot is always harder to get when your a fresh town hall level. I will tell you this though, gold 1 is a very weird median league where loot isn't the great. if you drop back down to gold 2 or 3 I am sure you will find more collctor raids.

I'm actually a TH9 but still...
I use 15 giants, 10 wbs, around 50 gobs and rest are archers
So that way i can push (all LP4 are pushing right now so i kind must -_-_ and farm DE for upgrading my valks (for youtube porposes) and meanwhile i'm getting pretty nice bases with 200k gold and sometimes more.
It is clear u cant 3-star every base with this setup but still it is proven very viable for me.
Also u can add 2 healers if you want. I do it sometimes when i want more push than farm.

Gold II has always been good to me. Farmed all my level 8 walls there when I was a town hall 8.

Yeah...gold 2 was amazing....it's just so weird...all the loot was great, and I get to gold 1, I have to search forever for something halfway decent....it's like I'm in silver 2 or something lol

I assume you deploy the giants first, so what next? Archers behind them? Then goblins when you've opened up the base?

I have 5 builders, lvl 65 right now...is LP4 recruiting? If so, what's the requirement? Would love a clan where everyone actually attacks in clan wars lol.

Also, at town hall 8, is it even worth it to try to upgrade valkyries? Or would all my dark elixir just be a sitting duck as a town hall 8? I think it's 50k to upgrade valks. I have about 10k right now, my bk is lvl 5, would love upgraded valks, as I use them a lot in clan wars.

The loot ebbs and flows. If you are having trouble in Gold 1, drop to Gold 2. I farmed max storages (except for dark) on my final day as a th8 in Gold 2.

Just remember --- when hitting next too often, just change your range.

yes, giants first. U can "check the land" with gobs just to make sure there are no traps or bombs on your way and then just start spamming archers in "U" to clear the area and start deploy gobs so they go in the center (where ussualy storages are and where are giants must already be to tank for them)

Sadly, LP4 for 70 lvl and higher but we like to have an active members so just try some LP5 (LP5 Titan, LP5 Griffin, LP5 Zeus) and be sure u have lvl 4+ archers. Here in LP4 Hercules we use almost all of our attacks in cw and i assume it is the same for other clans in our family. Also there is takes place some kicking of inactives after each war so u can try for a few times.

I dont think u aspecially NEED to upgrade them. I'm using level one to be honest.

This is true. so whenever I get to GOLD I, I farm DE there to intentionally lose my trophies( because of focusing on getting the enemy's DE and not getting 50% of the base). After that, I'll be back to GOLD II, then barch to GOLD I. Repeat.

I'm actually finding much better loot in Crystal II than in Gold I-II. Gold was good for me like 2 months ago but after that just ♥♥♥♥
