    A Smarter Way of Attacking

To be able to choose buildings around the troops that the troops can attack. For example: if there is a barbarian targeting barracks when there is a cannon right next to the barracks, the player should be able to make the barbarian attack the cannon, but they shouldn't be able to make the barbarian attack a building that is more than 5-10 tiles away from the original target which was in this case, barracks. And the player should only be able to choose the first building they attack. After that building is destroyed, the troop will take their own path.

Something I posted in a different thread...

If you select a wall breaker from your army composition, then all walls light up.
Select a wall, a wallbreaker is dropped at the nearest point possible to reach this target.

If you select a gaint/balloon from your army composition, then all towers light up. Select a tower, when selecting, a gaint/balloon is dropped at the closest point possible to reach this target.

If you select a goblin from your army composition, then, all mines, pumps and storages light up. If you wish to attack a pump, a goblin is dropped at the nearest point of this pump....

If you select any none-preference-target unit, everything light up. If you wish to attack a wall, then the choosen troop is dropped at the nearest point to that target. If you wish to attack a building, then the troop is dropped at the nearest point of that building ... same with towers.

It cannot be more simple than this ...
