A way around the hog nerf?

Well, hogs are still my favorite troop despite the recent nerfing. I've seen and experienced people firsthand releasing a load of hogs only to see them start ripping up a base nicely and the next second they are gone after being roasted by a couple of big bombs. Instead of releasing 20 hogs all in one bound, couldn't this problem be circumvented by releasing hogs in pockets of 4 or so instead? That way less hogs are likely to be bunched up all together, and thus less likely to be simultaneously all cooked by bomb bunches. The bombs would go off and only a few hogs would die as a result. Or do hogs lose their attacking power when broken up like this? I want to try it but as a TH7, dark elixir comes at a premium. I was wondering if anybody knows how effective this strategy is, or not is.

yea but the point of a hog attack is to rush the defenses. also eventually the hogs will all group up

I guess it depends upon when the grouping up occurs. If it is post-explosion, then all is well. It seems most anti-hog bases have the two bombs set up around the perimeter of the base. And hey, lose the avatar..

It's still easy, just have to be a little bit more strategic. As long as you dont hit a double giant bomb, you should be fine. And it's pretty easy to figure out if/where there are double bombs. Usually.

First of all, hogs were not nerfed. they were balanced. Nerfing implies an object was made worse. Balancing can be achieved by a nerf (weakening something) or by buffing something else such as a giant bomb.

Now, there are ways around the buff to giant bombs. For example, you can look at the number of 2x bomb spots. If the geometry of the base allows 1-2 hogs to proc the bomb pairs you can deploy to trigger before you dump your main hog groups.

In your case as a TH7, you shouldn't be using hogs. Level 1 or 2 hogs are highly susceptible to a single giant bomb.

When you go up in TH levels the best approach after the giant bomb buff is to use a real attack strategy, such as a gowipe or gowiwi

Hogs were most definitely made worse with this update, i have no idea what your argument was based on.
    Have a nice day.

Yep hogs were made worse because there stats changed so much. oh wait...

operationally speaking, hogs are less effective because they were balanced by giant bombs being buffed. Are you even at a level where you can use hogs?

Nerf implies causes less damage. Hogs still do the same damage, but we're given a vulnerability to one specific defensive structure.

Strategy on the attackers part can certainly mitigate this vulnerability, however strategy on the defenders part must first exist. If defender does not place bombs where hogs will go, net effect of update is still zero.

    Hogs = still the same
Big Bombs = boosted vs hogs
Strategy = some instead if zero

Exactly how dumb are you? Hogs are less effective, therefore they are not as effective as before, so they got nerfed through giant bombs being buffed.
And fyi i am a mid town hall 9 farming legos and i think i know how hogs work.
    Have a nice day.

Distract AQ and CC, avoid double Giant Bombs. They are harder to use but can still work.

    TH9 vs. TH9:

There were no double Giant Bombs in this particular base but the general idea is the same.
