I put my base up against the edge with no walls, didn't know people could spawn on the border.

When I first started playing, I was so greedy that I thought that it was bad for people to steal my gold, so I would buy and sell flags nonstop, losing 50,000 gold evrey time, until I had none.

Gemming my th2 which is pretty embarrassing considering the upgrade times are less than an hour. I also didn't build any walls until th4 because I thought the obstacles would protect my base. I also didn't build my clan castle until th5 because I though the 10k gold to get it was too expensive.
up to TH7 I always put my air defenses in the corners
When I first started playing I thought I found some secret bug when you queue up troops in your barracks before going raiding. Then when I finished a raid I came back to my base and already have some of the troops trained.
- I used to think lvl 5 walls were expensive
- I used to think mortars were most OP thing ever.
- I can reach masters using only giant/healer at th7.
a) I thought that i would have to rebuild my cc whenever it was destroyed
b) I didn't know annything about the loot penalty and went to th8 as soon as possible. Spent 8 months recovering.
c) Friends told me that wiz towers are useless and don't bother upgrading them. So yeah wiz towers sucked.
d) When i first started i did my wall compartments as segments of 4 buildings with extra compartments chucked on as i got new stuff and more walls. Note this was before layout editor- base designing was a huge hassle.
Thanks icey for the sig!
(to be fair airplanes were useless at the time militarily, with pilots shooting at each other with handguns)
