    Clan War needs a change!

Recently there has been some drama brewing in my clan. This is because when a war is started, all members are forced to partake in this war. Some members choose not to be as active as others and often miss the war. This makes more active members rage. I feel this is unfair on two accounts. This is unfair to the active people because they enjoy getting good score rankings and whatnot while on the other hand this is unfair for the people who are not as active because they are not threatened to be kicked out of the clan.

    I have a purposed solution:

When waging a clan war, there should be a opt in process. Give a set amount of time for members to log on and choose to opt in for the war. The people who do not will not participate and will not be able to affect the wars results.

There could be a min requirement for the war to happen, like say 10-15 people. I can not say how the brackets could work size wise for I am not on the game development team and do not know the restrictions per war.

The brackets would allow teams to easily search for other clans to war with with similar amount of people keeping it fair.

This is just what I thought of and maybe there is a better solution out there but whatever it is something needs to be done. some of us like myself do not want to commit time every week to war. I enjoy the normal style of the game and do not want to feel bad about not participating in a war that everyone else wants.

I do enjoy this game and would really love to keep enjoying it, but as of right now I do not enjoy logging on because if a war is happening I feel required to participate and guilty when I don't.

Clans are a good way to hang out with friends.
We have friends who have left us physically to other parts of the world, and we keep in touch using CoC.
Now, these friends may be busy at times, and we don't want to have to kick friends out just because they are busy with their life for that moment.

My clans has been in clan wars about a dozen times, but we haven't won a single war. We have many friends who are currently unavaialable, and thus we can't go on and win any wars...

As mentioned, clan wars should be a opt-in process, not a all in process.

    Clan Wars doesn't need this...

This makes Clan Wars far more complex then it needs to be. And it could very easily cause more people to miss the opt in time then it would the normal war attack phase.

The simple answer is kick the inactive people, if you don't do both raids then you kick em out! (Start with the lower players then go up from there)

But I do agree inactive people are very annoying!

As always, I disagree with this idea both from a philosophical point of view and from a game balance standpoint. Just don't like it at all. Details in about 100 of the 10,000 similar threads.

so so so many threads on this, we all really need to use the search function before creating more clutter by opening more of these threads every day.

Yes, even new members must have joined some type of forum before in their lives, and same rules apply in every forum, which is search before posting a new idea.

Clan Wars Supports at least 10 and up to 50 players. I would like an opt-out button though. It would be very helpful. However, an opt-in and an opt-out option wouldn't work. Everyone is expected to participate. An opt-out button, yes, but an opt-in, no.

can you further explain how an opt-in button differs from an opt-out button in terms of serving different purposes? I'm just thinking either button basically gives the player a choice to participate or not participate in a war.

An opt-in button suggests the default setting is that everyone is out of wars.

An opt-out button suggests the default setting is that everyone is in wars.

But both buttons give the player the option to swap away from what's default

FYI, I pointed this out to another posting on this same topic as you are correct, there are tons of requests for this. And he posted back that he tried. Sure Nuff...if you type in "opt" or "opt out" or "opt in" you get nothing. The search engine is a bit lacking in this regard.

But to the OP- here are a few threads you can add onto- we are huge proponents of this option. None of the above arguments against this make any sense. Its better to get on one of these bigger existing threads and keep it going than start a newer smaller one.
