    I am an admin for OMG events. We just finished our second tournament, almost the same as what you are planning. The first was a mix of th8, 9, 10. The second was all th9.     Love this idea, and any that adds more to the clan war than just a quick loot-incentivized war!

    But I would like a more comprehensive system that is more long-term. Please read and let me know what you think, thanks!

    Here's the idea: to have a Clan War League system based on football/soccer leagues where clans would fight each other in different levels of leagues, trying to get promoted to a higher league or avoid demotion to lower league. Of course aside from prestige and long-term goals, an incentive of loot/gems would also be included in competing in and winning higher leagues.

    Here's how it would work:

    • Each league would have 8 clans who would fight each other once (or twice if you want to lengthen the process), once a week (so clans have time to do regular/non-league war if they want), so that's 7 weeks (or 14 if two wars for each clan) in one "season"
    • There is one league at the top ("1st Division"), 4 "2nd Divisions", 16 "3rd Divisions", 64 "4th Divisions", 256 "5th Divisions" and so on, depending on the number of clans that want to be part of this Global Clan War Tournament; each new clan that joins the tournament would start at the bottom league
      • the lowest division would have less leagues than the formula as there will rarely be the perfect number of clans involved; so the demotion/promotion numbers will be adjusted accordingly for the lowest division

    • At the end of each "season", the top clan in each division would get promoted to a higher division with the 4 lowest clans from the higher divisions replacing them in the lower divisions
      • Example: the 16 "3rd Divisoin" winners would replace each of the bottom 4 clans from the 4 "2nd Divisions"
      • this system is based on the biggest online football/soccer management game called Hattrick, so it has worked and proven to be functional and fun

    • The standard war size has to be set to be 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, etc. I'm sure SuperCell can figure out the most popular system. Alternatively, you can have multiple Global Tournaments for each size and you clan can choose which one they want to compete in based on their preference of war size


    Why this idea would work:

    • Gives clans an official system to compete with others, with long-term goals to trying to climb the divisions
      • this is far beyond the current "league" system that no one really cares about aside from loot. no one really is competing with others in each league unless at the very high levels


    • Incentive for SuperCell: encourages further use of gems to make your clan stronger to be able to win the highest divisions and be the champion
      • I personally would have preferred a fair way to deal with this, but in these freemium games, you can't expect fairness to be the main priority
      • of course heros must be available for these wars regardless of upgrading otherwise it would break the system

    Another way to solve the immense search times is to make it only possible to make the war size a multiple of ten (10v10, 20v20, ...etc.)

    I would think a week long, 8 clan tournament, would be better. And have consolation brackets so everyone can still war the entire time.

    Oh wow, well first off, thanks for the posts guys. And secondly, I apologize for being a lazy ***.... I said I would update this thread a long time ago. I suck, lol. At this point if Tournaments are added I'm sure SC already has their own idea. I'm just very glad to see that so many are still wanting this idea. I know I do too!

    Great idea. I would suggest making the winner get 100% of loot won so double their loot. Just an idea

    Love the idea.

    Maybe if you want to be in a tournament you can select the tournament and be put on a list so the when 16 teams that is on the list match the parameters the clans will be notified and the tournament can start. Then someone doesn't have to wait around for all 16 clans to be found.

    Its a brilliant idea and one that Supercell should consider, this could mean greater prize money for clans as well as added XP
