    TH8 GoWipe Discussion

This may be more important for Clan War, but it is a tactic/strategy so it deserved to be here more.

With hogs nerfed (yes giant bomb buff is a hog nerf), many new strategies for TH8's are being attempted. Yes, dragons have become the knew go to strategy, but balloonian raids and such are becoming more popular. Let's discuss GoWipe, a strategy with forum refinement and discussion could be my new go to strategy.

What 200 troop composition would be best for GoWipe. first, I say at least 4 PEKKAS (100 troops). Next, I believe 1 golem only after experimenting with 2. The unlurable BK usually hunts the golems first, so only one is really effective (130 troops). Next, wizards. 10 wizards sound minimal and respectable (170 troops). Lastly, 12 wallbreakers and 6 barbs for luring. Yes, a lot of wallbreakers, but PEKKA AI is obviously not what any attacker wants it to be, so the Wallbreakers are needed to clear a nice path. Please tell me any objections to the troop composition and what you would do to change that.

Spells. I've used 3 rage, and it's been fantastic, so I'll say that. Lightning isnt as useful as raged PEKKAS and they respond better to rage than heals.

Attack strategy: 1. Lure CC and heroes. If Heroes are unlurable then proceed with attack, kill CC troops immediately. Drop your golem towards the middle, and wallbreakers to follow up. do NOT spam pekkas, place them at most 2 at a time and encourage them to go towards the center. Wizards main goal is to direct pekkas towards the center, and then used as follow up support for PEKKAS. Use 1 rage to help PEKKAS get into core, another in the core shortly after, and the last one whenever you see fit. I.E. 3 teslas zapping away at your PEKKA and you need to destroy them fast. You can also use the rage to help defeat cc troops, but I don't personally.

Remember, use Hero to defeat other hero/cc troops or treat it as if another pekka, you want it in the core.

If you have any objections to this strategy or feel it needs improvement please comment below. I believe GoWipe is very viable at TH8 so long as you can handle CC troops, Heroes, and can manipulate PEKKA AI well enough.

I've always done it with 2 golems 3 pekka but if it works it works.
If your clan has witches ask for a few in your cc and do gowiwi

I like two golems. Put them on on the sides where you deploy your Pekkas and they draw far more defenses and last longer. It really helps when trying to get that push to middle.

For spells, three rages work, but I've been experimenting with 1 heal / 2 rage.

Maybe it's the fact that I have max TH8 troops other than level 1 golems. I'll try 3 pekkas with 2 golems, in hindsight pushing the core has been pretty easy, maybe 1 less pekka would still work as well. For CC Another PEKKA or wizards probably. Could put a hog or 2 in there if cc is well placed.

I love gowipe and ever since watching the rising Academy videos I have been a big proponent of it in my clan. I'm not sure how the AI changes will effect it but should still work. I have been using barcher with wall breakers just fine. I will be using the strategy again tomorrow with my new level 2 golems

Here is an overview of my th8 gowipe strategy

Just watched a level 4 Hog Raid massively fail against a lone barb king that managed to survive my attempt to take him out with wizards. Definitely receptive to a new strategy.

Watching a lot of youtube videos, I see a lot of people don't use wallbreakers. Right now I have golem2 and pekka3.

I am not a pro by any means, but I recommend heavy wallbreakers, 10+
No worry of them getting REKT with your trusty golems in the way.

Pekkas AI seems more favorable now when busting walls, but will go a reasonably far distance to avoid wall busting (leads to the circlejerk). With practice GoWipe can be done with ease, but don't be surprised if you fail on a decent base before experienced.

so I've been pouring elixir into all my troops except gowipe troops, so i dont have any maxed troops.
i've got lvl 4 wizards and wall breakers, lvl 5 barbs and archers, and lvl 1 pekkas and golems. with those lvl troops is it worth trying out on maybe some town hall 8's?
    I don't clash much anymore

No. Right now I have maxed every Elixir upgrade, and have only 80ish walls to skull before I upgrade. I can maintain Elixir and gain Dark Elixir and of course gold but if I still had your situation, I'd BARCH and farm like crazy. You can get skilled with GoWipr at any time, but the longer you wait to upgrade your base well is the longer you'll wait to become exceptional with it. FARM FARM FARM FARM FARM FARM

that's what im doing right now, but im getting tired of relying on dragons for wars, figured i could try out attacking like the big boys.

but no, that is literally what im doing right now. i just spent the past hour finishing up my purple walls and now ive started skulls
    I don't clash much anymore
