It's almost made certain types of attacks, a game of luck / chance, instead of skill, and knowing (somewhat) how your troops will behave - and taking actions accordingly (skill).

I'm almost exclusive Loonion attacker. And post-update, I've gone from 90% chance to 3 star select bases, to 50-60% chance to 3 star select bases. These select bases are the same ones I've been targeting for the last 2 months - low Air Def, no archer queen, non-purple wizard towers, etc. Basically things I should easily 3 star before the update, and now sometimes I get 0 stars. All because of how the Balloons are targeting now, compared to how it used to be.

If you're going to change the game, fine. We'll learn new ways, but when you change the way ever single troops paths, and targets, that's a little much. Even minions aren't the same as they were.
I could not agree more! It's really frustrating when they change the whole dynamic of our attacks and strategies. I have to target much weaker bases than I used to with my Loonion army composition.

Giants, not well know for their enormous mental capacity, used to stick together in one clump. You know, safety in numbers and all that. Well, now they are even dumber than dog fecal matter! When released, instead of staying with the field trip, they wander all over the place. This, of course, makes the notoriously flighty healer even more confused then she was to begin with.

I'm not saying the giant/healer combo is dead, but it is far more difficult now that you have zero chance of predicting what path your troops will take.

I do hope they change the attack back to what it was.

This...x1000. Best concise summary of post update play I've seen. There is really just no telling for sure with Pekka, wb, Royals since this update was released. And the unpredictability seems amplified greatly under rage spell...to the point I've wondered if some coder at SC got their copy/cut/paste mixed up when they were implementing the Royal rage nerf and screwed up the generic AI under rage.

Balloons do what they do. From how I use them, I don't think they've changed.

Three times farther in fact.
I have not noticed that, but if so, then things are simply not working the way they are supposed to. Balloons target defense, and should go for the closest.

I have noticed that they still kind of follow walls. They will go to a defense that is farther if it is in the same compartment instead of a closer defense in a different compartment. This is the way it has always been

I dislike how my troops head for the builder huts instead of towards the main base. Those builders are innocent!
