Updated to v1.1 thanks to some suggestions by KingBrandon and lastnline. Let me know what you think!

I'm still not sure if I like the southern-most cannon or the 3rd tesla's placement in the NW of the farming layout. Will continue testing.

i might actually try this, if there were more cons than pros, i wouldn't try it.

I think that's the key to what makes this game so well designed. Every layout at every town hall level has to have weaknesses. You only so many buildings and walls.

So each player has to pick what priorities you have. Do you want to protect every storage equally? Be prepared to have splash damage near the exterior of the base. Do you want all splash in the interior of the base? Be prepared to have teslas near the outside, and possibly air defense too.

There will always be trade-offs, which is why one base will never work for 100% of the respective town hall's player base.

I hated having teslas outside of my core. I hated not having double giant bomb. I hated my opponents being able to immediately detect where teslas and GBs are. If those things bother you too, try out the base!

Nice base, I'm going to try it out! I swapped cc with dark elixir storage so it's a bit more difficult to lure out troops. Will post results if i get attacked

That's an excellent suggestion! Now that the 4 outside edges have been expanded in v1.1, the clan castle gets extremely difficult to lure out if you switch the DE and CC. Good catch!

The trade off is the mortars are unable to attack both sides of the dark elixir storage, but may be a worthwhile sacrifice.

I can extend the northern walls a bit to make it even harder to lure CC troops. Here's what it looks like:

And with that change, I may move the double Hidden Tesla to the compartment with the southern AD, defending both gold storages and the DE storage. I'll move the double big bomb up into the core compartment with CC.

I would personally dropped 2-3 groups of hogs to look for GBs, he instead mostly dropped in one big group (which quickly split into 3).

What bases did you like so far? I really liked Dominion, but had terrible success with Tempest & others.
Well I've at some point or another used every one of Orz's base designs. Tempest was alright for me, I really enjoyed the farming Nexus Core layout (all three WT in the center kind of bugged me though), Dominion and Tesseract didn't really fare too well for me (being that Tesseract is an anti-hog, I got absolutely pummeled by anything non-hog, including barch). However, Shuriken was my latest choice and it went pretty well except for the occasional mass giant-healer (levels 6 and 3/4 respectively). I also used Avernicus' Hypnotica but that didn't do nearly as well as the others so I scrapped it fairly early. I like this base design because, in all honesty, it's quite confusing and I feel that to be an advantage against attackers. I will make some changes for it as my war base considering storages are irrelevant and are best used as non-meat meat-shields against attackers.

I really want to retry Tempest and Nexus Core the most, however I don't know if I can sacrifice the storages in Nexus Core like he does, and Tempest seems a bit dated.

I think you proof an excellent point with this: the layout remains very flexible.

You added better splash coverage and sir coverage across the base (instead of just the core) and only slightly expose the northern air defense for a giant/healer entry point. Gj!

Thank you for sharing your experiences.

I feel a lot of players will have drastically different results with most of these layouts at early th 8 compared to late th8. The double upgrades to WT/AT/cannon and triple upgrade for HT just adds so much pressure on giants/hogs.

I feel like the best layout for early th8 is anything that separates the 6 storages into 3 chunks, conceding 2 of them to a decent attacker and hopefully saving the others.

Herocial clash of clans YT channel has a "top 5 th8 farming bases" vid that has some very efficient bases at doing just that.

Of course, I feel mine does a good job as well at early th 8, but constant re configurations (perhaps something akin to KingBrandon did above) are warranted during certain upgrades to cover down on any potential weaknesses.
