I recently upgraded my fully maxed th8 to th9. For most of th7 and all of th8 I BARCH'd exclusively. 200 army spaces, so I used 23 barbs/23 archers and 2 wall breakers in each barracks, that gives 200 spaces. I did BAM a bit, but I didn't like using DE when I was trying to max my DE troops and get my king to 10. It trains fairly quickly, even better when boosted. Anyhow, I farmed at 1600-1675 trophies, not veering out of that range much. I was able to go to TH9 with full storages, full collectors and my GG was just over 300 million. I varied my spells a lot. Sometimes going all rage, or 2 rage 1 heal, or two lightning, 1 heal. You just have to play with the comp to see what feels right to you. I like the wall breakers because barbs are heartier than minions and I found breaking a wall and sending in barbs was easier than having to worry about if there was an air mine, wizard tower or air defense around.

Perfect, perfect!! Nice video --- I would add that when I'm attacking base that has no tombstones (no recent attacks) I peck around the collectors with barbs to uncover the bombs and traps --- doesn't take many and then full bore.

Hey there OP, I'm an almost maxed th8 (2 walls left and a few lab researches missing) using barch only and I could keep 5 builders busy throughout th8. It is an highly effective farming army, I even converted some of my clan mates to it.
I barch in gold leagues (gold I at the moment). The only downside I can see with barch is that you're quite dependant on finding collector raids or exposed storages and some days I'm out of luck so I lower my expectations.
Anyway the best way to know if it suits you is to try it for yourself.
