Admins for clash of clans global chat

I'm 25 years old ( yes 25 years old and yes too old lol ) and cant tell you the number of times Ive gone into global and found people swearing at younger kids or using profound language.

The game is downloaded played by and aimed at kids of all different age groups and i think that implementing admin into global chats who would immediately give 24 hour bans to people who are abusing, swearing at or speaking about inappropriate things to the younger clash of clan members would be the right thing to do.

Ive seen kids as young as 8 years old on clash of clans and cant recall the amount of times in global ive seen people speaking about inappropriate topics.

i know, i saw that too, but unfortunately, their are way to many globals for them all to be moderated.

I feel your pain. I really do. My children play the game too. Every time I click into global chat I shake the feeling that Jesus just drowned a puppy because I am viewing that drivel. While my argument may seem like a silly one and I will likely present it in a silly way please try to see past that for the underlying value and why I don't think this will be possible . . .

Can you imagine being one of the people who had that job? It would seriously be a full time job requiring 24/7 coverage so it would require an entire staff just to cover the hours. What would those people do with their time??? Read global chat and try to explain to foul mouth dimwits why what they did was wrong. Can you imagine a worse way to spend a 40 hour work week? What did you do in your previous life to deserve coming back for that one? While there may be an eventual change in the dialog on global I suspect it would be very expensive for SC to implement and would probably have two major drawbacks. 1) it would permanently lower the IQ of anybody who had to do that job and 2) it would probably have a higher suicide rate than Kevorkian's patients. In short, you would never be able to staff it.

there should just be a filter that sends anything with swears to maybe a supercell computer function to mute the person
then if there are non swear insults it gets sent to a staff and they just click the ban button

There's already a swearing filter that censors bad words. It just lets any curse through that has an accent in it.

Agreed that it would be a terrible job to do but then there should be a different system in place perhaps a sign up page where kids under the age of 13 can not access global chat ?

Although there is a swear filter ive seen some kids manage to use different alphabetical ways of saying certain words and the filter doesnt filter out conversations that people have regarding +18 topics which i wont mention

Then any kid under the age of 13 will just sign up using a fake age/DOB so they can access global chat.

If you see swearing then just report the player.

The swear filter definitely needs improving.

(I actually came up with a way to fix the accent problem, and (according to my testing) works 100%. Check my signature if you're interested)

Hey guys,

Sorry for pushing that "old" thread but in my opinion this is an important topic that should be further discussed!

I really feal annoyed when I go into the global chats to look for new members or just to chat with others.
There are that many chilrdren that cant behave in a right manner and spamming the chats with insults.

Using a swear filter based on RegEx won't help much in my opinion, you can always bypass it and further more there is not much of a learning for those chilrdren.
They need to feel it if they done something wrong by a ban for example.
So I really recommend to creat a chat admin team moderating all of those chats.

To go a bit in details:
Some of you wrote that there are too many chats to be observed and some said it's a too hard job for those admins (moderators of however you like to call them).
Of course one moderator cant observer all chats, but he doesn't need to! ;P
You need for each language region a small team of admins with one leading admin responsible for hiring new ones.
The admins are volunteers aged 18 that can apply by email.
I don't know how many users germany for example has and how many chats so I can't tell about the dimension of that admin team.
But you do NOT need one admin for each chat.

As people cant see whos online in that chat they will never know wheather there is an admin or not.
The possibility that there could be one would be enough to let them think a bit longer before they insult someone.

I would suggest a step system in ban length, first someone gets a short chat ban as a warning.
If he continues ignoring the chat rules he should receiv a "game ban" so he cant do any actions in clan wars or attack other players.
This will not only a punishment for him but only for his clan. In this way clan leaders will be more careful in who they will hire as someone who shows aggressive behavior might be banned during clan wars.

Of course it is not easy to implement an admin structure into an game that wasn't thought for such a strucutre before but in my opinion Supercell can even encrease their income by such a system.
The admin team won't waste any money, there are enough volunteers!

And of course this game is aming at children, their parents are the customers in some way as the have to confirm their payments.
If Clash of Clans has a good reputation as "child frindly" they are more willing to let their children pay money.

The current status is that (at least in the german global chats) the main topic is se*, racesism and insultment.
The filter and the report system does fail avoiding such topics.
It even impede normal conversaitions as some parts of your sentences get deleted not enoug that you have to write 3 messages to write a single sentence...
The chat is currently not suitable for normal conversations!

The first step to make it suitable for conversation between young and old would be inroducing such a described admin system urgently!
