TH8s, what Strategy are you using in wars to attack other TH8s.

Most of the time, I use around 2 Dragons and the rest Balloons + Minions. In my latest war, I used 6 dragons and the rest balloons, which seemed to work pretty well. I got 3% off 3 stars in my first attack, I ran out of time, had a dragon left to destroy the laboratory :/

If the enemy base has level 4-5 ADs, 10 dragons + 1 dragon CC. If all ADs are maxed, I'll use GoWiPe.

I have been going with gowipe.

2 golems
3 pekka (level 2+)
11 wizards (need level 5)
10 wallbreakers (can be less depending on base)
1 archer
2 rage
1 lightning
Clan castle full of wizards

Determine which side you are going to attack from. Drop your golems in two separate spots but still close enough together. Deploy wizards behind to clear as many outside buildings as you can. Your wallbreakers will have broken in, and now you can bring in your pekkas. Rage your pekkas once they get in the base, and drop the rest of your wallbreakers to open a path into the center. Drop king and clan castle if you haven't already, and use your last rage when necessary. This is a basically a guaranteed 2 star against all town hall 8s and a lot of town hall 9s and can get 3 stars pretty frequently with practice. The biggest thing is that you clear outside buildings so that when you deploy your pekkas they don't just run around the base and actually go inside.

When I was th8 (just a week ago) used 2 attacks depending on person's base.

GoWipe:
3 Pekka
2 Golem
12 Wiz
8 WB
1 Archer
2 Heal
1 Rage
CC full of Wiz
(For weak th8 or 9, 2 rage 1 heal)

Hogs:
25-30 Hogs
3 Heal
2 Giants (to check for traps)
Rest Archers or Barbs depending on what I think is in CC
CC full of Wiz.

Most of the time i use 7-8 dragons, the rest minions. Sometimes all dragons, and a mixture of rage and heal spells. If centralized maxed AD then u r definitely going to have trouble with this approach. So i usually will target a base i can use this strategy with since it is what i am most comfortable with, but if i have to attack one of the maxed centralized ad bases i would prolly use a different strategy.

But with my dragon minion mix there are several times i get most heroic attack and almost always able to attack above my recommended targets for three stars.
