    can find a way

SC realized that being able to cancel the sale would allow the RSS to be a storage vehicle. For instance, you want to go shopping but your barn is full. You put eggs or bacon and eggs up in your shop at max price to clear barn space. No one buys them because at the time, they weren't used for as many items and were worthless. Then later when you finished shopping you just put the items back in your barn, so you could use them on a boat or put something else in that slot.

People complained that since RSS slots were more limited due to GC limits, they would get stuck with items in the RSS that weren't sold and no new ones to sell things. So they gave us two options. Greg would buy the item after a day or so, or if we were in that much of a rush we could trash it for a price. Trashing the item isn't a big deal if it's say wheat or eggs, so the RSS could still be used to help storage issues, so the price to trash something was set to be diamonds.

While I agree there are plenty of temptations to use diamonds, I don't think this is actually a ploy to get diamonds sales but more as a method to discourage using the RSS as storage.

If you are in a Neighborhood, it is pretty easy to get a friend to buy them and sell them back so you can re price them or keep them.
Yes, SC has said just this. But IMHO, it can be made to work. First of all the rss would make lousy barn space as items would be subject to sale at any time. Yes we could put in our eggs, but what a hassle.

My real point in this reply is the suggestion that SC allow us to remove only the last sale posted. Then can't really use it as additional storage except maybe one box.

Well you say that items would be subject to sale at any time and that putting in eggs etc would be a hassle, but I can tell you with a great degree of certainty that it is done all the time. I do it very very often and it works quite well. Plus people who have mini farms do it by not advertising and keeping their friends lists small and informed. And I do it without using the edit sale option. Even limiting it to the last sale posted is easily circumvented. It is so very doable.

But before you go and get all mad. I agree that it would be nice to be able to edit a sale. And I also agree that the current set up is just dumb and should be eliminated. If left in place I agree that it should be relabeled as trash sale instead of edit sale.

But I think in the whole grand scheme of things that this isn't that necessary. As I mentioned if you price something too high without knowing the market, then Greg or Tom will fix things. With the ability to edit your sale, they would probably take away Greg and Tom's shopping trips. I'd much rather leave up those blue sweaters at max price for Greg to buy, than lower the price and maybe still not sell them. Finally, whether we like it or not. Super cell's philosophy seems to be that we are responsible for our own mistakes. They don't intend to hold our hand through the pitfalls of the game, because nothing you do is fatal. Everything you do, no mater how ill advised, is survivable. No one dies, your farm doesn't get hit by a hoard of locusts, and even if you sell ten bolts at default, like I did one night, it is not the end of the world. I will never play that tired again, or sell a whole bunch of wheat at 36 coins. I am really careful not to slip up and make diamonds rings, but if I did, I'll make them back in a day or two.

Will I cheer if they change this? You bet. Will it ruin my game if they don't? No way. I'd much rather they spend their creative genius with more shops for the town, more products to produce and more creative ways for me to have fun. But that's just my perspective. I am sure some will not share it, but I am in this game for the long run and usually those who have such vehement problems with long time features of the game are used to faster, easier games. Hay day is not for everyone and is the most different game I have played in my many many years of playing games. And I started playing cards at age three with my grandma for pennies she gave us. I tried to stack the cards once in a game of crazy eights to make it easier for me and she caught me. Haven't done anything like it since.

The thing that most people do not realize is that the current model is pretty close to real world as it can get. Clearly that is not the point of H-D, but realism is nice. If someone posts something too low and it sells too quickly, that is their own fault. They were just taught a lesson on the market. If it was an accident...anyone ever been in sales and had to suffer the deluge of customers due to a typo on a paper insert? omg...it's the worst. Thing is, as a seller, you simply don't get a do over. You review your business practices, fire the flyer editor and get a new one with better controls in place.

Same for H-D. If it is a typo, just slow down and be more careful next time.

Hey I was little. Grade school or younger. I made sure I got the four eights during the first deal, but my grandma was a smart cookie.

You are very right. This is a time and resource management game. You learn by doing and the lesson you learn best is the one you learned from your mistakes. If they told us how to do everything it would be too easy and with the many different ways to play, it would be difficult.

Frankly I think what gets people mad isn't not being able to edit the sale, but the limited way that we can. "Edit sale" tends to make you think you have more options. If it was labeled as trash sale, most people would say. "How dumb is that?" But as I noticed recently, what many of us think as a bad deal (the daily deal in the paper) some folks find attractive. Maybe they are seeing deals that are better than what shows up in my paper. Who knows. I don't even look at it anymore. But it is part of learning what is a good deal and what isn't.

They are seeing the same deal as you and I. The difference is a different understanding of the game mechanics and different game goals. For some, keeping a shop stocked with 1 of every item 24/7 might be their end all goal. For others, it is about maximizing coins, xp, reputation in town, etc. One type of game style may be moronic and foreign to you and I, but the opposite can be said about how we choose to play.

With the OP in mind no game style benefits or is hampered by how this aspect of the paper works. You will make mistakes, and the key about mistakes is that we learn from them, or should. No one will play H-D if SC listens to all the complainers about how easy it is to make mistakes and SC should do something to prevent it...oh noes, why do I have to click so many times....it seems some people just want a game that is one button that says "make farm go" that they press then sit back.
