DE calculation

I am a bit confused. Can somebody help me understand how DE calculation works?

I am TH7. A short time ago I had 13,636 in de. I was attacked by a TH8 and he got everything. I would expect that 5% of my total de less 5% was available to a th8. However, he got me for 736. That works out to roughly 5.4%.

There was no de in my cc and as a th7, I don't have a de drill.

What am I missing? I thought there was a loot penalty when you are a higher th.

Hmmm.. maybe loot penalty was more if he had a different th but it only showed up as 736 on his screen.

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean.

Based on what I understand the maximum that s/he could have gotten was 648.

13636 * .05 = 682 * .95 = 648

It's like the th8 got a 5% bonus from me rather than a 5% loot penalty.

I'm not complaining. You win some. You lose some. I was just trying to understand the mechanics of it.

The penalty for one th below you is 10%. Therefore, the attacker, at th8 would get 90% of what would normally be available to a th7 and below.

Anyway, to sum it up your attacker did get a 10% penalty if s/he was a th8.

Maybe somebody else could answer this better than me.

It is 6% for TH7, not 5%. The math works out perfectly.
