GREAT thread OP, so glad to finally see something other than 'whaaa whaaaa hogs are useless and obsolete now boohooo'.

As stated earlier in the thread, double GB's aren't even an issue in hogging if you're experienced enough to send in just a few to set them off before sending in your main hog force. Don't whine and complain about change, adapt and overcome. To those that can't, please place your collectors and storages in the corners so we can farm you after you quit.

As expected, hogs out run heroes. In some cases, they even finished off the towers and turned on the heroes. I have had success on centered heroes and edge heroes. Two and three star wins on mostly other TH9s(one TH8 and one premmie TH10).

Edge heroes are a no brainer. Deploy on the other side, by the time the hogs get there, most of the towers are gone.

Centered heroes, what I have been doing:
Lure CC like normal. Deploy hogs on a side nearest to the TH, in groups of two or three, heal as needed. Before I would heal hogs near WT and when they are in center with Xbows. Now I just pay a bit more attention to what the heroes are doing. If they are attacking the hogs, I might drop a heal there also.
Hold onto your heroes and support a little longer. Once 60-70% of the towers are down, deploy on the now cleared side. Put down some support to clear a path, then heroes and the remaining support to go to center.
The BK tanks and crushes walls to core, AQ and wizzies follow, taking out the defending heroes, TH and grab loot.

Before you declare Hogs dead, maybe you should try it. Tactics will need a little adjustment, but Hog Riders are still a very viable troop.
Thank you for posting this! My hogs just finished upgrading to lvl 4 last night and I have been so excited to try them out. With this new update I was thoroughly bummed that Hogs were taken out of the picture. You have given me reason to try them as originally planned!

Surprised at all the cheers in here for heavy hog raiding.

Ask yourself this question, does this update:
    A. Make raiding easier with hogs?
    B. Make raiding harder with hogs?
    C. Makes no difference.

I see this as B. Heroes are now defensive towers that hogs ignore. If you've participated in clan wars you have would have seen well defined TH9 bases that are very hard to three star with hogs (not saying impossible) but with a good layout and some great double traps that instantly fry hogs (thus no heal can save them) it was already tough.

These changes will make it more difficult especially when you come across a good TH9 base in clan wars.

... now are hogs useless, no I wouldn't go as far to say that, you can still use them to farm bad bases (go watch the videos of the TH8s getting run over by hogs in that other thread) and you can use them in clan wars to supplement many other tactics (air attack but a few hogs to get the exposed air d, etc...) ...

This patch is a straight up nerf to heavy hog raids. I'm going to guess it was intended as well because it is a very popular strategy. If your voting A or C then I respectfully disagree with you.

I would say 1.5x more damage is a big difference buddy.

Double GB's traps that are not on the out edge can't easly be fished out with a few hogs ... FYI. This goes back to base design, 2 GB take 4x2 width, if you only have two of those areas behind the first wall, yeah you can fish them out. If you have eight places with 4x2 space, for those 2GB traps, where 4 of them are on the inner layer ... yeah good luck fishing them out sir. See how many hogs you have left for your main force once your done.

Note: Perfectly fine with the way GBs work today, they are a good counter to hogs and can make a fun game of where's the trap on good bases.

Actually almost every anti hog design uses double giant bombs.
