max cannon first or max archer towers first?

I am a TH8 player.
my previous post's title is wrong.

Upgrade archers first because cannons cannot target air units so you will probably lose because of them

I did my cannons first but i should have done my archer towers:

I did my cannons because they look GREAT - ok there i've said it.

I should have done my archer towers because there are more of them, they are ground and air and have a wider reach

The fact that they look great is a perfectly valid reason.

I also did them first.

Cannons.

Main reason : They are golden !

And the second one is you can finish upgrading them faster.They are built faster and cheaper so you can even spend some for your walls.In terms of strength archers are way more powerful though (im including the fact that they have a wider range and they can attack to the air units)

IDK why, but for me, golden cannons & mortars along w/ skull walls, have always served as the penultimate base deterrant.
Something about those 3 things initiates a spinal reflex in me to hit "NEXT" faster than a heartbeat.

So while I am aware of the many advantageous of archer towers over cannons,
my own personal advice is to do the cannons first:
- cheaper
- faster turnover
- better visual deterrant

Haha, this thread brings back memories.

When I had level 10 arch tower, yet only level 8 cannons... I got teased. (by the way, I only upgraded cannons past L8 at the end, before turning back for walls)

When I did not have flags or wall spikes... I got teased.

When I had a boxy base design... I got teased.

When I upgraded defenses before upgrading walls to L8-9... I got teased.

cannons are more useful for ground troops. great on giants, archer etc. archer towers are good for air defence. if you're farming you need the cannons before the towers for the simple fact you don't get many if any air attacks aside from the odd dragon or healer that are quickly cleaned up with other air defence anyway.

That's what happened to me too! Then my dumb friends started telling me different stuff so I rushed my TH to lvl 7. Now I'm at least a maxed TH 6.

Cannons fire faster and cheaper to upgrade. They look cooler in gold too when upgraded to level 10.
