Jeez. Don't be harsh to him. That is the basic way of maxing. For fastest farming, play in two hour sessions whenever possible and use quick armies to attack collectors. When there appears to be a shortage of abandoned bases attack storages. When not in a two hour session pop on whenever an army finishes.

To be honest the fastest way is gems... Lots and lots and lots and lots (there can never be enough lots lol) of gems!
Oh yes there can, th9 is not that expensive, just wait for th10 (and th11 if it ever comes). Two feasible ways given to max th9 quickly: farm or gem. Problem solved.
