I tried this before, I think this is an okay strategy but not necessary good. You are sacrificing too much housing space (hogs + barbs + 1 valkyrie) just to clear the enemy's cc. There is also a possibility of failure if the valkyrie gets targeted by wizards. Even when successfully executed, the valkyrie will likely run away to the sides so you will still be losing that valkyrie anyway. Since most typical valkyrie strategy do not use alot of valkyries (6-12), I prefer not to use them at all for clearing cc.

Awesome Thread...and roll on the !st

Love this thread and it has been permanantly stuck to my bookmarks toolbar. Can't wait for the start of vallhalla...none of my clanmates understand my near obsession with my valks. Bet you when i get back from vallhalla and show them what ive learned, labs will be cooking redheads throughout the clan. Keep up the amazing work.

I was called into our feeder clan recently to help soar up membership. I hadn't been in a lower level clan for a long time and we've had two wars.

I oblierated 2 bases in the first war with hogs n' valks. I also hit up a large number od low level CCs with the red heads. The second war I had a very disappointing 95% that the timer ran out on (hogs n' valks again). Then I went GoWiVa on a moderate th10 for two.

So now there are all these "noobs" who have no idea that the typical high level player thinks they are useless. I get all of these, "plz can I have a Valkyrie requests," lol.

I plan to revamp this thread once \/alhalla hits, updating it with all the knowledge I gain. Probally will add a section for hogs and giants. Hesler will preobally be filled within these two areas.

    Anyway, many thanks

I caught that one on youtube zen

Ya 49% has to be my least favorite number in clash. Its so close, and yet not quite there.

I've been smacking around Th9 players with valks n' hogs (Four 3 stars, One 95% 1 star) but I don't feel like the bases are all that impressive I have been tackling so I haven't shared them. But I am perfecting there use.

I prefer sending my hogs in, under cover of the Valkyries and timing my rage to get both groups in it. But I've always used it for bases that don't have a complicated lure. Hogs are definitely easier to manage without a lure but I think when I get PEKKA up to speed that I might work them in (I have been using 4 healers) and develop the tactic more for Th10

    ZenCoC strikes again

Hey Zen - I've practicing on th9 and weak th10 bases in war and have been sending the hogs in under cover of the Valks - you seem to hit initially with hogs/rage and follow up with hogs

Have you tried sending hogs in second about the time Valks are running out of steam, I been happy with my results

I initially tried to use hogs specifically for luring cc, and use the remaining hogs as backup unit to support the valks in getting out of the core. However I did not have very good result.

I refined the strategy and end up with rage + hogs which served the following purpose:
    1) Lure out CC
    2) Clear as many defense as possible
    3) Ensure there is 1 straight path to the core with your main army (Valks & hero)

To elaborate further, a typical GoWiWi army uses 3 golems deploy on LRC (left/right/center). There is usually no need to lure cc as they may use lightning or rage once cc comes out. However for valkyries army, cc with witches and/or wizards can be potentially dangerous for your valks army. So I feel it is definitely better and safer to lure them out first before starting your attack. Due to the use of jump spell, I do not have space to carry lightning and I feel 2 rage and 2 freeze is too good for me to ditch them, therefore making luring out cc even more important.

Back on LRC, due to valks/witch/wizards army taking too much space, I decided to use 1 golem instead. I need to ensure I have 1 and only 1 path to the core. That is where the hogs + rage comes in. Sometimes I deploy all the hogs to clear the left, sometimes both left and right side, depending on base design. The idea is still the same, I am clearing all the possible "distraction" which may potentially split my main army. Clearing the defenses using hogs also make sure there is less firepower so that my golem can survive long enough to keep my main army healthy before reaching the core.

The next advantage of using hog+rage is that once that particular area of defenses are cleared, the perimeter buildings near that compartment becomes "free" buildings which I can use just a wizard or 2 to clear to help in getting the 50%. You also need to use wizards carefully to clear any side buildings on both left and right side before dropping your valkyrie/BK to the center.

I would like to do a full guide on this, but am really lazy...

Was just wondering if u ever encounter issues if a Drag pops out of the enemies CC other than wasting few wiz to kill it off?
