From a very rushed TH7 to a 60% TH7, I’m ready for TH8!

I prematurely arrived TH7 and was thinking about rushing to TH8. At that time (about 3 weeks ago), all my defenses are severely under leveled (see my original post below).

Well, I am glad that I did NOT continue my TH rush, all thanks to the useful suggestions from the community.

Looking at where I stand now, I almost max out all my defenses for TH7 except the following:
Archer tower * 4 (level 7)
Cannon * 2 (level 7)
Tesla *2 (level 2)
Air defense *2 (level 3)

All my walls are maxed, and I have no place to dump gold into, even with 5 continuously working builders. That’s when I decide to farm dark elixir. I think I did okayish, and my BK is currently being upgraded to level 4. And of course, my farming troops are all maxed at level 4 (barch/giant/wb/gob).

However, there are still lots of upgrades that are not close to maxed:
Gold mines/elixir collectors: all level 4-5
Barracks *3 (level 7)
Dark barrack *1 (level 1)
Troops: Balloon (level 2), wiz (level 2), healer (level 1), dragon (level 1), minion (level 1)
Lightening (level 3), heal (level 1), rage (level 1)

My plan forward is to upgrade to TH8 in exactly 2 days. The reasons are listed below:

1. Synchronizing the completion time:
Based on my calculations, maxing the remaining TH7 defenses (including my TH which takes 8 days) with all 5 builders will take exactly 10 days. So if I start upgrading my TH in 2 days, I would have maxed defenses when TH8 arrives.

2. Loot penalty doesn’t apply to me:
I farm at around 1450 trophy, and my main targets are all TH7/8/9. I hardly see any TH6. So by upgrading to TH8, I will be able to farm these TH7/8/9 much easier WITHOUT loot penalty (not that farming with level 4 troops is difficult. I constantly get 150k each per raid. 10% loot penalty on TH7 is also negligible when I reach TH8).

3. New building and walls to dump gold into:
I almost consider leaving my gold storages outside for free trophies. They are just constantly full.

I don’t know if this is considered “rush” if I up my TH in 2 days. I just don’t have patience for these stupid collectors/mines/non-farming troops (maxing these will take weeks. What should I be doing during that time?). Plus, gaining resources from others is so easy and much more fun. As I point out in #2, raiding as TH8 should be EVEN EASIER. I just don’t see any reason to stay in TH7.

With my close-to-maxed defenses, I constantly get owned by TH8 (usually revenge attacks for me taking all their DE). I am sure when I upgrade to TH8, I will be destroyed by TH9. So what’s the difference?

After considering the above, I would probably upgrade to TH8 in 2 days. The community helped me out a lot 3 weeks ago by convincing me to stay in TH7. I would really appreciate any suggestions/comments.

Not that i think you should keep 5 builders sleeping over it but in the future at th8 deffinetly max ALL you'r troops. you are entering the higher th lvl's now and other strategies are out their that you should want to use. especially for clan wars but also for fun. balloonion is a great way to farm DE and you could use it at th7 but th8 is when it really gets viable. wizards and dragons are integral to a few strategies and minions are a prime farming troop (the best imo). hogs are also really good for clan wars and gold farming at th9.

I would personally get you'r barracks to lvl 9 and dark rax to lvl 2 but up to you. good job upgrading the deffense.

So... move up after finishing barracks? I can certainly do that. These raiding strategies sound very interesting. Unfortunately for clan war, I am stuck in a two-person clan with my girlfriend, and she doesn't want to recruit nor disband. Thanks for the suggestions!

Your loot from TH6 will reduced by 40% by loot penalty, that's better than you have full storage all the time and can't farm them for anything...

I believe those TH6 don't have any DE yet... and when you came into bases with DE, they should be TH8+.
You won't see any different DE loot as TH7/8/9 even 10 because big DE drills come from TH9/10.

if you upgraded earlier, you should already have half skull walls done and of course higher BK levels because farming DE is much more easier on TH8 with Lv.5 troops.

you've wasted your time and throttling your progress since your walls is maxed.

Don't worry, I did this too when I'm on TH7, and I was very upset when I come to TH8 and find out it's much better than waiting on TH7. That's why I create my thread and I hate max everything advice... Lol..
