In Clan Wars I dropped a lightning spell DIRECTLY on a witch, and she only received 60% damage... Correct me if I'm wrong, but Witches have CONSIDERABLY less health than 420 hit points (level 5 lightning spell).
I lost what should have been a 3 star battle because of this, so needless to say, I'm furious.
Lightning strikes are spread out over a small area, so not all strikes hit the same spot. It has always been this way.

Maxed witches have to be hit by 2 lightning bolts I believe. Correct me if I am wrong

A mortar is larger, so more strikes hit it.

Level 5 lightning has 6 bolts that do 70 damage each. They strike within 3.5 tiles of the target and are 2 tiles wide.
thats why you can't always kill medium health troops with it.
lure properly and kill with troops not lightning. What are you going to do if a drag comes out of the cc? Lightning it?!
Dude most people who are very high in trophies don't have drags in their clan castle they have witches and wizards so 1 lightning should do the job most if not all the time, also witches are hard to kill without lightning spell because they constantly spawn skeletons
