I play a MOBA called League of Legends, this year they implemented a League system with ranks:
Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamon, and Challanger.
Each Rank is split into 5 Tiers
Example:
Gold I
Gold II
Gold III
Gold IV
Gold V
Gold I being the highest of the Golds.
Funny to see a league system being implemented in a game so close to when it came out on L.o.L. Haha
All it will do is give cups a purpose, which is a good thing, and probably how the game was intended to be played in the first place.
That's what I instantly thought. Three seconds after that I thought of Elo hell, my month there was the most brutal thing ever, hopefully there will be nothing comparable.

I guess these bonus loot its a motivation for clan to claim trophy up and when they claim higher they need to buy gems and SC can make more profit, but farmer just ignore that and farm normaly as they do![]()

All speculation of course, but as Action Monkey pointed out, the marginal benefit of 2000 vs 1400 is slight...
But, this assumes the current landscape of how players are distributed. There's quite a bulge of players, as we all know, in the 1200-1700 or so troph bracket currently. With the new leagues, will the cows migrate up then to 2k-2.4k?
And will the wolves follow to keep farming? Who knows... but, if that happens, one could see the "bulge" of players widening over a greater troph distribution (perhaps as originally designed) and there may not be so much real, or perceived, step functions in game play between farming at 1.4k vs. 2.3k, per se...

this is all speculation, but if there's a loot PENALTY for attackers, it won't be farming as usual. not anymore.
think about it, if you're subject to LOSE gold/elixir/DE if you don't "win" at least a star, won't you always go all out (heroes, spells, etc.)? using spells to crush bases will drive weak bases to low trophy ranges and keep them there. people won't drop one troop and leave if they know they can be penalized for losing on offense.
before now, failing on offense just meant you couldn't recoup your army elixir costs (and gold for spells, if you used any). but what if you had a 100 000/100 000 penalty for losing on offense? that would change farming forever -- it would prioritize getting 50% damage first; getting loot would just be icing on the cake.
and if you're on defense, why wouldn't you defend your TH if your base has a chance to generate 100 000 of "free" loot? trophies will matter again, as people will be naturally forced into their appropriate trophy ranges.
90% from player are farmer and SC know it, if SC try to to hurt there what peoples like and have fun with it, then I see a black future for SC! I think SC know and smart enought to understand itotherwise people's get angry and quit game and COc loose at popularity! and what happen with a app when isn't popular more???? I don't need to say.....

If those posted amounts are true, there's not enough incentive to change trophy range. Those amounts are large enough to make me go "wow let's pop up to 2000 trophies"
