Why do people hate top players?

Well then again, as I said, they provide the money to keep Supercell running. True, there's enough of money already for Supercell, but the extra from top players helps us get new and better updates. Every game is basically pay to win.

Without the whales SC would still make a ton of money. Most players spend small amount, but because there are so many the numbers add up quite nicely. Not every game is pay to win. Games with a monthly fee or game you just pay for once aren't.

No one in my clan buys gems and not a single one of us hate top players. It's incredibly sad, pathetic, and petty to actually hate someone and feel jealousy over a video game, but luckily it's only a very small but vocal minority. I for one have never personally come across someone get all hot and bothered over gemmers. Only on forums like these where a small hand full of people jump all over it.

I agree thoroughly with that. Its up to the person how they spend there money, but doesn't give anyone the right to completely bash them for using a mechanism IN THE GAME to progress faster. Jealousy is the underlying problem in clash.


Gemming would ruin the game for me, and I would much rather spend the money on much needed items like burgers... and strippers!

I just don't get this? Instead if hating on those with money why not do something for yourself so you can get more money? Why is it unfair someone has and will spend more money? Are you in favor of taking money from those you deem have too much so you can give if others? Also known as theft...

Really? I think you missed the point of his post. He's not saying anything about his work ethic or social world view. The point is quite simple. Clash of Clans is a game, not a paradigm of life. Games are meant to be fair, and have rules to keep them fair. Yet CoC allows players to gain a significant advantage if they have the money. This is the problem with most free-to-play 'games.' They turn into a business rather than a competitive game - which is fine btw. If people download and enjoy it, clearly it has its merits. But the fact remains that CoC is not fair. Fair games hinge on two things: skill and luck. That's it. Any game that allows you to buy your way to the top is clearly competitively broken. That's why people dislike the top players. The leaderboard is a joke. I'm not saying CoC itself it broken. It's fun, challenging, addictive, and Clan Wars offers fair competitive gameplay (once certain problems are ironed out). High level 'gameplay' in champs is quite the opposite.

Tbh I don't even care, the leaderboards don't actually matter to me or my clan.

I am not jealous that they are good. I don't care about being good, it's about having fun with your clan.

I guess I was just soooooo rich I could throw soooooo much money at something that literally means nothing in the scheme of things. They are very fortunate people, and I was I could devote my sleep schedule and the rest of my life to what I wanted to do, instead of what I have to do, like almost everyone in the world.

Either way it isn't what you call an equal match. Especially when you consider al lot of those sandal wearing players in the park don't have the money to get all those luxuries. That's the main thing. Even if they wanted to, they can't. Especially the part in your analogy about sandals in the park makes it sound like that group wants it the easy way. And that just not true, al least not for everybody.

It doesnt cost that much to compete at the top. Not if you put the time in. Yes you need to buy gems but not 100s of dollars. I heard 100 dollars a season covers it.

If you dont want to spend that per 2 weeks, thats great, spend it on something else you enjoy. If you cant afford it or dont want to afford it thats great too, but dont expect to be able to compete at the top without money and time investment.

I cant think of any other comnpetetive game where you can compete at a high level without money and time, can you?

So, why do people hate on these people? Just because they use ♥♥♥♥♥s? If I had to take a guess, I would say that these people are the reason Clash of Clans (or Supercell) is still alive. I'm not defending what they did, but most people in Champion use ♥♥♥♥♥s, so why only single out the popular ones?

The also inspire people, for example, Jorge Yao. He mass dragged, and now a lot of people do it too. He also kept the #1 spot for the longest time. Kemal, well, I'm not sure what he did, but let's just say he inspired people to push and play.

Is there other reasons why they are hated except for the fact according to some people, "ogm no lyfe," for spending money?

Thats not possible, you have to take a forced 5 minute break every 7 hours or so....

if some people want to spend £££££ on a game so be it and if they are top, then good for them as they have spent money on this game .....

if you don't want to spend £££££ then farm ..... no point in hating

People usually hate top players because they just assume that they used gems to get to where they are, or because they think they do nothing but play all day every day.
