I am a th8 and our clan is pushing. I am at 2313 trophies after a few silly raids today where I lost 40 trophies. Should I gem my lvl 4 hogs? Will cost 2500 gems. Does it seem worth it? I need to get to masters before Sunday and I think lvl 3 hogs would be too weak to get me there

if you were planning to push why didnt you farm/upgrade your main trophy pushing troops earlier.
IMO no, you guys will probably push again in the future i think. So why not wait it out and try your best with what you have.
Or you can townhall snipe if you are really desperate. (10-15 trophies an hour at your trophy range but as you go up it will only become 5-10).

I hate to say it but if you NEED to reach masters by Sunday, I'm guessing you will get kicked if you don't? If you are in a clan that will kick you for that, you need a new clan that likes you for being you in chat etc.
(Also you are a TH8, masters is a big task for anyone at TH8)

If you gem use it to boost, stop looking at loot and only attack bases that you know you can win. It will be pretty hard to get to masters with that army, but boosting and skipping gives you the best shot.
remember every attack: full spells, BK, Full CC and all troops trained.

No I will not get kicked but it's for pride, I want to top my clan and anyway the top player gets £10 itunes voucher which would nearly repay for it. The current leader just reached masters and bought a shield so I can beat him if I get them lvl 4..
I also have school and am busy on the weekend so I am not sure. Sniping has become almost impossible to find now and I get smacked with a revenge after every session so it's hard to gain anything from sniping

Well if you have the voucher then do it.
I mean level 4 hogs is when they start beasting defences and 3 star townhall 9s.
Thats why its important to boost, you need to cram as many attacks in as possible between logoffs. Any time you dont give up three stars on defense I would consider yourself lucky even if you have a fully maxxed th8 base in that cup range.
