Presenting to you, probably the best town hall level 6 base
ever
like, seriously
First of all, notice the two layers of defense: Innermost are the air defense, splash damage defense and storages. Outermost there are those useless single-target defenses, resource collectors, and most importantly, all the traps. What happens when this base is attacked, the units will take out all collectors and useless buildings, funnel into traps and get constantly shot at by splash damage defenses. They will go for the inner walls only when everything else is broken.
Notice how
1: The air defense is centralized. This is very important when attacked with air units like healers or balloons.
2: The splash damage defenses are placed for maximum reach to the outer layer.
3: The town hall is still decently protected. Most powerful traps are next to it (springs, giant bomb). It is within the reach of two mortars and a wizard tower. The two barracks and three builder's huts in front of town hall are also in reach of the closest mortar.
4: The single-target defenses will take out most wall breakers.
5: The (empty) clan castle is poorly placed. If you have powerful troops in it you might want to change it with a wizard tower or at least place it near town hall
6: It's perfectly rectangular!!!!11
