I've been reaping the benefits of BAM since I first got my minions and have been loving it every since. I know your barracks set up is super quick to re-queue, but it also takes longer to train.

Below is my composition which trains in a phenomenal 12:45min (unboosted):
Each Reg. Barrack: 17 archers / 16 barbs
Each Dark Barrack: 17 minions

Yeah, there are definitely some way's to speed it up a little. I think the "theoretical" fastest would be to queue minions non stop in both dark barracks and either do a split half/half barb/arch similar to what you're doing or like I'm doing. Sometimes when I get in the zone my camps are already full and I hate having to de-queue/re-queue troops in various barracks. I like the mindless top off method, with adding the minions in when necessary.

The 30 minions seemed to be a decent balance because they take 2:48 to build 15 in ea. barracks and are plenty to punch into most cores. I mostly use BARCH troops and can sometimes go several attacks in a row without using minions, so leaving the dark barracks queued full time would get a little messy for me. Obviously I could use minions every attack to keep it balanced, so there's nothing at all wrong with rocking an even faster army if you've got the DE to spare. Like I said, it's all about quantity of attacks per hour to increase gph.

I am a th8 farming between 1600 and 1900 trophies. I have a near maxed base with just several point defenses and walls left. My problem is whenever i use BAM my dark elixir slowly depletes even as I manage to destroy dark elixir pumps and storages. should i keep certain amounts of minions in dark bax or just spam everything full like i am in the habit of doing (i try to save minions, they are my final wave i deploy)

My preference is to only use minions if I have to. I guess it goes back to my days of "conserving" DE, and also that many of the attacks don't really require them.

If you're struggling to maintain DE at your trophy range (and it's your sweet spot) I'd go into a little more of a conserve mode to only use them as needed. It's been quite a while, but I remember I was rocking 20 minions with my TH8 army and I recall DE being tight, but I'm pretty sure I maintained it fairly easy.

With 200 troop spaces it can be a little trickier to always hit the 50% without using the minions, but it's very doable.

Well, I did have to wait until I got my IT's up to lvl 2 before I posted. Can't have any of you using this against me.
Also remember, if you run into Coldfury base, just grab the TH and nothing more. <wink wink>

I watch the forums pretty regularly and you all know there are so many people who struggle with farming and I've tried several times to help, but it always boils down to a "you're not really farming that much" or "I clicked next 150 times and saw nothing" type exchange where nobody believes the farmers. So, I figured the best way to help was to be a little more thorough with a guide and give real examples.
I will put some more 30 minute raid sessions up as I make them. (and maybe a few crazy good singles)

best guide I've seen on farming Gold !

I have been using BAM for a long time, but I am only doing collector raids non boosted.

As a max TH9 with 440m GG, I can confirm that it is possible to do collector raids only

little tweak necessary: add goblins & giants in the army. giants = same training time as barbs. goblins a little longer, but barbs/archers are bad at collector raids.

idea:
* mines outside the walls: drop 1 giant. drop 6 goblins. instantly destroy the 2-3 mines around.
why is it better than bam ? defenses will *lock* on the giant. if using barbs, they will kill 1-2 barbs, and then start killing the goblins.
* mines inside 1st layer of walls: drop 1 giant. drop 5 archers on the mine.
why is it better than bam ? mortar/wiz towers lock on the giant, and your archers are safe


My TH upgrade is almost done. I'll be TH10 in 8 hours. I will now have to raid storages as I expect collector raids to be scarce, so thanks for this guide

My son shared this replay right when I got home from work. He hasn't even read my guide, but shows a great example of how to get max loot on the fewest troops possible with a collector raid. He's TH8 and been farming in the 1600-1700 trophy range (just hit TH9 shortly after this video). I haven't looked at the actual numbers, but judging by the number of these he's been posting the past several days I think he's doubling me on gph lately. lol
