i started boosting barracks a few days ago and i found that all you need is 1 barrack boosted. i have 2 barracks barb, 2 barracks archer, and 2 barracks minions with one of the archer barracks boosted. this gives a train time of around 8 minutes for a full army which gives just enough time to find a good raid. i consistently get around 2.5 mil gold an hour now.

That's playing a couple hours of hours a day. I also upgraded to TH8 right after the CW patch, and found the loot to be decent, if you moved up and down gold. Anyhow, I will direct some of my BAM'er friends to this thread. On a side not, how do you not find massive amounts of gold and elixir while farming for DE? I mean, it's all over. Reading Brandon's guide, you can see that he was pretty successful farming gold and elix while farming his DE. I find it constantly while DE farming. I am not seeing the magic of BAM when you can basically farm for all 3 resources with one army. Why limit yourself to gold/elix only?
Valid points for sure and BARCH is most certainly a great way to farm gold quickly as well. I am kind of a nerd and like to crunch the numbers when I do things so here's roughly what I've found for comparison.
I think as a baseline it's safe to say that BARCH and BAM are able to get at least the same amount of loot on most bases and I feel BAM has more punch to go deeper on several, but I'll ignore that for now.

BAM Army takes 4:10 seconds to build boosted compared to 5:35 for a BARCH army. So, theoretically speaking and not counting any TH snipes and collector raids with minimal troops you'd be looking at 14.4 attacks per hour with BAM compared to 10.75 attacks per hour with BARCH. So, almost four additional attacks of anywhere from 100k - 300k+ per attack ends up netting a significantly higher gold per hour in just about every circumstance with BAM.

Yes, BAM does use DE, but it's not a DE farming strategy. It's a gold/elixir farming strategy meant to maximize gold per hour in the most efficient way possible. I tend to only use my minions once every 2 or 3 attacks, so even the DE use is fairly small.

Brandon has a great method for farming DE and we've been discussing another great DE farming strategy in my DE farming thread. They both absolutely can get large amounts of gold per attack, but nowhere near the level of gold per hour that I can get with BAM.

I tend to focus on one primary resource at a time because it's really challenging to farm all 3 efficiently at the same time. I will switch to BAM some nights and do giant/wb/gobs the other nights for DE. Collectively I net far more DE and gold per week compared to trying to get both at the same time because I can hit the 3k DE base that only has 10k of gold available on DE night and I can hit the 200k gold base that only has 100 DE available on the Gold night.

    Good farming

On the flipside I have found that loot is consistently very bad right after and for several days following a big update. So, when there's a new update I just turn off gold farming for a few days or longer until things get back to normal.
I was barching and learning from your posts. However, I got to reply this. Right after the recent (1-2 days ago) maintenance break/upgrade, I was online immediately and have the best 2 hours ever. Trophy range 1500-1600 as TH8. The "dead base floodgates" was open and 70% of all my nexting are collector raids.

I was skipping 150-175k gold collectors (elixir at equivalent), as what you say earlier, I hit 200-300k gold on TH7/TH8/TH9 raids within the few next.

Right after 2-3 hours, it dried up just like that. Even 100-150k gold are hard to find.

    I climbed up to 1600-1700 ... it's dry.
1700-1800 it comes back to normal, but not the earlier super-collector raid.
Today, it's back to grinding barch ...

    Having trouble with farming range

    Firstly, amazing thread Coldfury
I'm a new TH9 with my barb upgrading from 5 to 6 and still 200 pops, at what range should i farm?
I tried 1500-1800 and i still can't find a decent range where raids pop up frequently, either collector or storage.

Those are the best days when the floodgates just open and it's also frustrating when the close right back up. :-/
Either way, the best thing we can do is optimize our farming the best we can with whatever is being offered.

It's hard to really give you a set range because it changes all the time. One day 1600 may be awesome and the next day be horrible. Then a week later 1800 can be awesome and so on.
It's simply a matter of moving up and down through a range that you determine by the qty of TH offers you're seeing.

Lets say you're at 1500 and loot isn't good. You want to watch the TH's that you're being presented with, so if you have half of them as TH7's then you know you're too low because only half of your offers are viable raid targets and then you're dealing with the odds of finding a good one from that 50%.
I tend to move up and down when loot is bad. I'll drop down to say 1800 now (as a TH10) and then go for the win on every attack and keep going up until I find a sweet spot. If I get up to 2100 and I still haven't found it then I determine that loot is just bad that day and hang out somewhere in the middle where TH offers are mostly TH9.

    TH9 Base CC Problem

I have been using a slightly modified version of your TH9 base while both of my Xbows are upgrading and want to know what would be the best position for the CC? If I have it completely centered in the middle the CC troops that come out seem to draw troops towards the core, defeating the purpose of having the double moat. Right now I have it completely towards one side of the inner core to test. What are your thoughts?

I think the two biggest frustrations I had with that base were the CC luring troops in and now the heroes.
Since the hero update I completely switched away from the base because CC and now the heroes (big time) seem to draw everything in.
