Where have all of the saws, axes & mining equipment gone? You used to be able to get them by harvesting but to no avail anymore. You can't even get them on the forum either unless you are willing to pay 1:1 with BEMS. I just won't do that. I understand supply & demand but SC is creating this supply & demand & I would like to know why. Is it because of the new town & you think everyone will pay diamonds to mine for the new bricks or the saws & axes to clear new land? This game becomes tedious when you make us wait too long for something SC (think maps). Please restore the frequency with which we used to get our saws, axes & mining equipment. I'm not the only person who has noticed this.

What? I'm still getting tons of saws and axes. I've offered them at 5:1 for BEM as recently as today, and I'm not the only one.

I get them regularly when I harvest and, more frequently than I like, as town visitor gifts. I do find that what I get is skewed towards what I have the most of rather than what I really need. All I can say is be patient for them to drop as your reward and keep looking for them in roadside shops. They are out there.

I had 0 mining equipment and found I could not locate any in the DD, could not "wheat" for any and also did not pick up any while getting other goods around the farm. BUT then finally my visitors gave me a few and once I had a few the mining tools then seemed to show up slightly more. So IDK, just an observation I thought I would share. Now I am sure to leave a few of each mining tool in storage so more can come, assuming there's some reason for that. I really need to hire Tom but my barn is a wee bit full at that moment so once I upgrade (to 2000!!) I will hire Tom.

Try wheating. It's worth a shot. I do it. It doesn't hurt and heck, makes me hopeful for my surprise tool when I harvest!

Ditto and more ditto! I get saws and axes from harvesting and visitors. Cannot get Tom for shovels at as I have fullbarnitis! I am chopping down trees to get them out of the barn

That has been my experience as well: the game gives you more of what you already have.

I have a ton of saws and axes, so I keep getting more.

IME, it really pays to keep at least a small stock of things you need regularly. Whether it's planks, sugar, saws, shovels, jewelry, cheese, whatever. If you have some, you'll get more, through random drops in the game, in the DD, and from the townies.

I experienced a mild shortage of saws last week to the point where I had fewer than 10 (scary), but then they started coming again. Received four from visitors yesterday which would have bothered me in the early days of the town (and did), but not anymore. I'm going through them like crazy since I'm cutting down more and more trees (side effect of the visitors' requests), but I'm still harvesting them with regularity, especially from my pets who gave me four in one harvest yesterday. Hang in there, it's a cycle like so many others, and you'll start harvesting and finding them again soon. Just try to purchase more tree produce from now until you do. Good luck!

The yield from mystery nets really seems to have improved since the update. Less fish and more other stuff. This net contained, in addition to the axe, 2 fish, 1 tar bucket, 1 jam, and a diamond.
