I suspect that the problem still exists in some shape or form and they don't quite have an answer for it.

I have friends over 3600 still losing to disconnects with heavy trophy losses - 6 months ago these were not happening to them.

The state of high champ game play is horrible for my clan mates at the moment - all they want is a fair game and something stable. Losing trophies to disconnects over 3G (not WiFi) just seems very shady to me.

I saw the video that one of the people banned made yesterday and to be honest it made me sick, it's all "I did it because I could" not considering or apologising for the consequences to others.
yes, the way sc handled this makes me sick as well. they will never get rid of these ♥♥♥♥♥ers this way. they may however lose some honest paying and playing customers.

another problem is, some top clans tolerate these kinds of players as long as they stay on top.

I'm not a champ and never was, but I also got an opinion about the whole issue which I want to share....

just noticed today about this glitch and it's abusing as I was on a business travel and came back from the CES in LV. today... I've now read through the whole thread and want to point out the following:

@SC: Not the best move to deal with this situation. You should have used permanent bans for the abusers, at least a ban for several month... So you would have had the chance to make a clear statement. In my opinion most of the people using these kind of tactics will ever be the same... I would bet that most of them also were using the mod on jailbroken devices and also the ghostraiding tactics.... So I don't think that these ppl are first time offenders...

smart would have been to ban them permanent and to make a clear statement that SC will no longer tolerating the use of Glitches and Mods... By showing strength in this situation a lot of people would think twice if it's worth to risk their accounts for some unfair advantages...

by only slapping them on the fingers you'll not stop others from abusing possible glitches and tools in the future...

it doesn't matter if someone hast spent thousands of dollars into their accounts or not... By starting to play the game they've accepted the TOS and acknowledged that they know what could happen to their accounts if they get caught...

as in real live: Having much money / investing much money into an account should not give you a mild punishment if you do something wrong....

I've read several posts about that some of these peoples would have spent so much money that SC can't simply delete their account and that this would be a to harsh punishment... Believe me: It's not... The effect of hard punishments vs. such offenders would be that more of the "Normal" customers are willing to invest into the game as they can see that SC is dealing seriously with this kind of situations. The best investment a Game-Company can get from it's customers is TRUST... If customers trust a company than they'll spend money... If a company is loosing the trust of their customers than it could end very fast... There're enough examples about such things happening in the whole games-industry.

by only slapping them on the fingers SC missed a great chance to make a step into the right direction.

    two more examples:

if an athlete is using stereoids or other substances and get caught he would be banned for several events (Olympics, world championships, aso.) and at least for 2 up to 8 years... career is mostly over and the public name and shame will also end their contracts with their sponsors... They're loosing more than 10k money which they've invested into their careers...

if someone is using insider informations to trade Shares and gets caught he's also loosing nearly everything he had gained through his deals plus a harsh punishment from the FTC and federal Courts... Also he's loosing much more than he had gained and invested....

Also in these cases it doesn't matter if someone is a first time or a rapid offender...

So in my opinion SC should set a mark and get rid of these players... They're poison for the game... And they'll for sure will try to find and use another way to get an unfair advantage once their back in the game... Ppl like this will never learn as long as no one shows them their borders...

    Just my 5 cents

Quantor what do you do to if

Quantor then what do you suggest they do to those many many many athlete's who had steroids as you say placed in their drinks without them knowing.... this did happen. You did not have to agree or participate in this ♥♥♥♥♥... what made it truly evil is that anyone in your clan could place a ♥♥♥♥♥ed win on you! Im not a fan of super cell .... but am glad to see they did patch the ♥♥♥♥♥ quite quickly, so thumbs up to them. As far as banning everyone.... then understand that innocents would also be banned who had the ♥♥♥♥♥ placed on them without them knowing.

    Well said, Quantor!
i agree, the punishment should be a perma-ban. It may sound harsh, but most of them have more than 1 account anyways. They won't stay offline for long.

My opinion is that the revenue lost from these che4ters will ultimately be less than the loss from potential spenders who are discouraged by the che4ts.

I agree. But note that these *heating champs alone probably bring the most revenue to SC. By banning them they lose a great deal of money. Harsh reality. One of the reasons why some people supported slavery.

As already said by another post: It only happened to "innocents" who shared their accounts... Sharing their accounts is also some sort of ch3ating... So: Innocence is no excuse....

I was once working around 2005 as a contractor for a company hosting a browser game with around 2 million players... The game has had a glitch which was overseen for weeks which gave a big advantage to some of the top-clans by making them able to generate unlimited InGame-currency in their clan-deposit and share it to all of its members.... From these 2 millions players around 100.000 were investing money into the game... The whole thing came to light and the CEO of that company decided to give the Ch3aters only a slap on their fingers... All things they've bought (mostly troops and districts) were taken out of their accounts and they were banned from the game for 2 weeks.... After this decision within 3 month over 60.000 paying customers have left the game... Also some thousands of players from other games they were hosting were leaving.... The reputation of the game and the guys in charge were completely ruined and the plug was pulled in cause of no longer being profitable another 3 month later.... The company tried to win back their customers by making special offers and free giveaways within all their games... But it has not helped, the company went bankrupt 8 month later and was then bought by another one... All in cause of this mild decision... You can have billions of dollars available for developing games, but once the customers are no longer trusting you you have lost the most important resource you had... No chance to get it back once the word is around....

making clear statements is essentially for every games-company in the freemium, ptw games business....

and loosing 100k from some hundred big fishes which are banned is not as bad as loosing 500k from three or four thousand players paying only small amounts and the follow ups from their advertising within their circle of friends...
