They cannot identify anyone using a mod thats the point. It's like trying to see if the player in CoC is a boy/girl or man/woman.
They can see that people exploited a glitch to get an insane ammount of defensive wins and those players will be dealt with.

Jailbreaks and tweaks are an unfortunate part of games/gaming and almost any game can be botted... being H<3cked is a completely different thing that we prevent with server-side validation. Clash of Clans is not a h<3ckable game.
As far as people who want to bot, and skirt the rules, we respond to this and constantly make adjustments to the game. The personal break is one example, and there are some other tweaks we've made in the most recent update and in the past that while not as visible, directly address the type of issues that you are referring to.
Anyone shown to be directly engaging in this behavior, that can be proven with solid evidence, can be banned permanently from the game. However, this is not a place to name and shame anyone. If you'd like to report individual users for ch<3ts you'll need to contact Player Support and include any screenshots or other evidence you would like to provide.

As a suggestion, if any discipline is handed out to the offenders, it would be useful if you updated your post in the "announcement" section with the severity of the punishment. I am not asking Supercell to name names, but detailing the corrective measures to individuals (ban duration, cup penalty or anything like that) would serve as a deterrent to other "enterprising individuals" who may be thinking of going down that road.
Its obvious that mega and top players are not behind the h@ck. its inthedark and rising family they ♥♥♥♥ed top players and wants them to get ban. U guys (ITD and rising family) will see what will happen in the future to ur accounts. We're working on something to get q recenge on u guys
First, kudos to SC for acting quickly and fixing the issue.
Secondly, how anybody can defend the people who used this or say they are legit is beyond me. I see one guy with 42 defensive wins. 42 in the 4200 trophy range. Utterly impossible.
SC better perma-ban these people. A temp ban just isn't enough for something like this. If Perma-bans aren't handed out SC better be ready to see a lot of people stop giving them money as people will quit or simply stop buying gems.
As others have said SC needs to come down hard on these people otherwise all credibility will be lost.
