One of the most debated questions: Max or rush? (TH 9)

I know many people get bored of farming at the same town hall level for long periods of time, but in the case of town hall nine, it's absolutely worth it. Regardless of attitudes, maxing defenses should be a goal for every town hall you have. As for heros and walls, I'd recommend Level 9 Walls and Level 18-20 Heros before upgrading to town hall ten. Town hall ten farming isn't that horrible if you know what you're doing and are experienced with the game, but you'll be miles ahead of all of the other town hall tens if you take your time to max town hall nine. As for level 10 walls and level 30 heros, it's not effective of your time as each wall costs three million gold, and level thirty heros require constant upgrading, and tons of activity on the game every day, to the point which would drive most players insane.

I have always been a proponent of maxing my base to my standards:

1. Walls
2. Defenses
3. Troops most commonly used

This has gotten progressively harder at each TH level as things start to take more time/gold but I have always found it easier transitioning to each new TH because I stuck to those 3 principles.

Most of the abandoned bases where I find collector raids are premie bases. People who lost interest quickly in the game due to upgrade times/cost as they progressed and due to the fact that they might have rushed TH without proper defenses/troops just added to the grind of new upgrades at each TH. You can rush if you want or if you get bored but with the addition of Clan wars I feel it gives you something else in addition to farming/pushing so staying at current TH is not as bad as it might have been before.

The good thing about this game is you do what works for you because the goal is to have fun. If you are looking long term and feel a sense of accomplishment in the game then maxing out is pretty sweet.

I am a new TH9 just getting started and I love it. I maxed my TH8 defenses/walls and am currently upgrading new defenses to TH8 levels along with the addition of 2 xbows. I do believe I will take the advice of previous posters and just do lvl 9 walls, max defenses, and get heroes to at least 15 each before I go to TH10 and play with the new toys.
