I can see why jumping up to th has its benifits, and honestly i think if you are a near maxed townhall9 the pros outweigh the cons. However thier is something to be said for starting and finishing a tast and doing it right. I really enjoy seeing how all my time and effort paid off.

I mean i have 4 archer towers to finish,and all my defences are done. I havnt needed elixer in ages. I am currently doing lego walls and trying to upgrade my royals. It kind of awesome to be able to see what a maxed base at any townhall level will do. See how many cups you can get and whatnot.

Unless youre planning to farm 12kk gold a day. Dont bother with maxing th9.

Having played 2 accounts I will base my answer on experience. Go ahead and rush if you can raid a lot and stay online for extended periods. If you play more casually, then stay at town hall 9 as long as possible.

I feel maxing out, will always be more beneficial, however at times upgrading sooner, can be more entertaining for some players.

Maxing bases saves time when you go to the next TH, and at the same time it displays farming capabilities as well as patience when others look at your base.

As a TH9, when I look at another TH9 with max defenses, Lv30 heroes, and full Lavas, I think... "damn" this guy is active, he is an effective farmer, and he has some insane patience.

Compare this to me looking at a TH9 will Skulls/Lv7 walls, mediocre leveled defenses and Lv10 heroes. It's very easy to tell if this player just got to TH9 but if he didn't, I think...this guy has not a lot of patience, he's probably noobish seeing he premmied his TH, and he probably isn't active enough to farm maxed defenses.
