Hi Guys!
So i see a lot of threads about this question, and i want to make this clear to everyone with this guide!. Lets start!
The LOOT!
So if youre going to rush to th10, the loot is FINE, only if you attack th9 and above. If you rely on th8, DO NOT UPGRADE! The loot penalty is a lot! Here is an example:
TH9 attacking TH8 with 300,000 gold available: 270,000 (10% loot reduction, or 30,000)
TH10 attacking TH8 with 300,000 gold available: 150,000 (50% loot reduction, or 150,000)!!
Also farming ranges vary from th9 to 10, so if you want to farm consistenly you need to move your trophy level! If youre wondering i farm in crystal league II at about 2300 cups.
About the upgrades!
Everybody wants infernos! However there are some downsides on getting new things. One of the downsides is that you will need to waste time on upgrades that are new, even if they cost a lot less than other things, so if you have 3- builders considerate this! But, however TH10 offers a new pump, mine, and drill that can be used to maximize your resource production rate! But this is a minor thing in case of the pump and mine, but the extra drill will be very beneficial for those hog lovers!
Clan wars as a TH10!
Some clans may have the "Attack similar TH only" rule and this is a disadvantage for you and your clan! If you attacked with hogs in the war, say goodbye to them! You may need to try new attack strategies to destroy those TH10! Also defending in war as a premmie TH10 may be disastrous! Hogs may not attack you, but expect a huge GoWiWi attack that will destroy you!
Defensive capabilities!
One mayor Defensive tower is unlocked at TH10, which is the INFERNO TOWER! This is the main reason why players want to upgrade the TH! This new, hot tower is amazing! Actually, this and the giant bomb are the hog nightmares! However if they are bad placed, hogs will destroy it easily or a freeze spell will freeze both of the infernos, allowing hogs to pass by! You will actually win some defenses because of them, but you may also lose defenses! Also, at TH10, you will get an extra x bow,cannon, archer tower, giant bomb, and air mine, that will definately help improving your overall defense! Also you will be able to upgrade your defense 1 level more than in TH9.
Attacking capabilities!
Attacking doesnt change much from TH9 to TH10. The only mayor change is the freeze spell, which will allow you to attack TH10 with bad placed infernos with hogs, or will also allow you to make good GoWiWi attacks! Also, you get a increase from 220 to 240 housing space, and some troop upgrades such as Level 6 wizards, Wallbreaker, Goblin, and level 4 dragon and pekka, which are difficult to get while being a premmie, so i would say that if youre going to rush TH10, upgrade spell factory, then lab, and finally army camps!
Other things that change!
A disadvantage of rushing is the NEXT COST! From th9 to th10 the cost gets a 250 increase for every village that you next! This is HUGE! If you next 50 times per attack, the cost will go up a lot! Something like this!
50 Nexts in TH9: 37,500 gold
50 Nexts in TH10: 50,000 gold!
That is a difference of 12,500 gold! Its a ton!
Also one advantage of rushing is the fun factor! (Thanks benny for reminding me this) When you rush to th10 you will be getting new toys to play with, such as infernos, level 6 wizards, freeze spell, etc. And it helps when you are losing interest in maxing or in the game in general!
Conclusion!
