From a TH7 perspective (my current TH), the DE lightning strike is great for revenge against TH9's who raid you of 100K/100K, when you really have no chance against them with L4 troops. I usually will only do it as a revenge, as I consider it cheesy as well. This is also the only time where DE lightning strikes are a problem (TH7 against a TH9) because of the 50% loot bonus. The increased hitpoints on the DE storage mostly fixed it.

My advice (and I will certainly do this when I'm TH9), is to be careful about attacking TH7's when you have a lot of DE and also stay at a trophy range high enough where TH7's won't find you. I'm a maxed out at TH7 and the highest I could get my trophies was ~1700. Above 1700, I suspect there aren't many TH7s.

I have no problem with lightning on revenges really. I very rarely attack TH 7's. TH 7's that manage to reach, say, 1900 rating with any gold or elixir in stock are extremely rare.

Lol. Just got revenged by a TH 9 that failed miserably in his attack and used lightning on my DE storage as I wrote that post.

Another example, someone TH9 thrown 4 lightning spells on my DE storage. Oh wait, I'm TH8 atm. He got 610 DE over like 1.1k available loot. My DE storage is level 4 fyi.

Upgrade to TH9 and we'll be happy to spam lightning on you all week long. Or longer.

But really, what kind of logic is in claiming in that is that it's part of the game? Slavery was part of USA for quite a bit. Was USA supposed to keep it for that reason?

Most of the DE I raided were from TH9, since TH7 or 8 usually won't have much DE in storage. My cups is between 1450 to 1550. I am currently almost maxed out at TH7. For me to raise the cup from sub 100 to 1450+ takes about couple of hrs.
Quite a lot of TH9s can be found at around 1500 with loot of DE 1000+. So TH9s, if you want to protect your DE, you have to work on your cups. If you want to drop your cups to farm, please stop complaining about the lightening spells!
