Problem: We have been consistently encountering enemy clans in clan wars that are very challenging to achieve 2-3 stars on. This challenge has caused us to use stronger troops in our attacks. In many cases we have to spend between 300K-400K Elixir or over 1,000 Dark Elixir to achieve a single victory with 2 or three stars. 2 of these attacks easily costs between 600K-800K Elixir or over 2,000 Dark elixir. This high cost to win a war, has caused us to think very carefully about how much loot we get if we win a war. The War Loot we get when we win, rarely comes anywhere close to these numbers. So we find ourselves fighting less and less clan wars. We want to see a profit from a victorious war. Gone are the days of sniping someone's TH that was left out of the walls for easy loot. People are very quickly learning how to leverage the benefit of the saved war base addition.
Caveats: Attacking Skill is a huge element in a Clan War, and I concede that those with adept attacking skill can take on difficult bases with less expensive troops. However the fact still remains that most decent or even good attackers are still having to dump a ton of elixir to muster an army necessary to bust many bases that aren't far from our own power level.
Solution: Raise the war bonus. Smarter minds can pontificate about percentages and the best way to do this, but the end result is the same, increase the possible loot an individual can achieve from a victorious war. Alternatively, a special reward for clans that have performed well in clan wars at the end of the "Season", this special reward would be consistent, predictable, and not only for a few elite clans. The point is still the same, reward successful Clan War Battles with more loot.
