We all know Supercell makes bank on Clash of Clans from all these people buying gems. What if Supercell had a day every year (maybe the date clash of clans came out) where they reduced the gem packages a bit.

Now you may say, "no, they won't do it because supercell will lose money."
Well if you think about it, they wouldn't because so many more people would buy because you don't get those offers every day. Plus say someone does buy gems that day, they may want to buy more next week because they got addicted. And that week would be regular price, thus, making supercell produce a bigger income. Now please post comments, if you like the idea and want it to become an actual thing, give support feedback. maybe we can get this an actual day! If you think about it, supercell would gain more money from this..

Do you mean gem sales? It would be a great idea. I would like weekly offers, not annually though. You need to be more specific about your post, give details and examples:

- Holidays 1/2 off, or holiday sales.
- weekly offers ($50 worth of gems for $40)
- daily hour deal (3000 gems for $20) available for an hour a day. (Different offers daily.)

That's sort of what I mean. There should be gem deals. On a day once a year, that way we get more gems for less of money. But the people who buy will most likely start to become addicted to gemming cause they like how you don't have to wait. Then they will buy more gems, making it a win win situation. (Us receiving more gems for a less price and supercell rolling in even more money from all the new people buying.)

Just remember, This would only be one day out of the whole year.. I think weekly deals and stuff like that is to much and wouldn't happen. Not that I wouldn't want it, but I don't think supercell would implement it. But the yearly deal would be great I believe.

You implied the deals on holidays, I think Christmas would be a perfect holiday to cut the gem prices short a bit, don't ya think?

This is a great idea. Supercell is already doing that in Hay Day so I think they could also do it in Clash.

I hope they do that in near future.

This is way too frequent.

If everyone knew they could buy gems for cheaper during a certain time of the day, they would always wait until then to buy their gems, no one would pay full price.

At least the OP's idea is only once a year, so not everyone will be willing to wait for that one day and stock up.

It's not clear whether or not SC will make or lose money from this, as it's not possible to predict the gem buying habits of players with something that has never historically happened before.

The issue is, SC currently has a steady, predictable influx of gem purchasing revenue. And this could really throw their revenue earnings off in an unpredictable way. Unpredictable revenue stream is something businesses want to avoid. Not knowing how much money is coming in and at what time makes for poor financial planning and could affect how much they budget to spend on future updates/upgrades/maintenance/etc.

This would be nice for players, but to convince SC to implement this would be a much tougher task......... especially when their current revenue model is working so well (if it ain't broke, don't fix it).

You got a point. It would be hard to convince SC. But if you really think about the pros and cons I think SC could make more money. So many more people would get addicted to gemming from buying thier gems that one day. They will realize how valuable gems are and would not want to wait out that 14 day town hall 10 upgrade wait... I'm sure more people would buy if we had a reduced gem price day every year. I know I personally would buy more.
