Farming for level 6 troops?

So,

i just hit th9 2 days ago, been hovering from 1000 to 1500 trophies, only success I saw was at 1500s, under it was dead for me.

I couldn't store up any elixir, I am truly amazed by the people who got it from farming only...


BUT, unfortunately, this happens to me after each new th level.. Oh well, I'll get used.

I've been TH9 since it came out, and I was a loooong way from being maxed as a TH8 when I went to TH9. All went well however and I haven't upgraded my archers or barbarians to level 6 yet becase the costs increase so hugely per troop (+50% training cost and only little damage and hp increase).
However, I'm struggling with the overload of elixir I have all the time, so I've decided I'd do my archers asap so my storages won't be full all the time.

Barbs and archers done with giants finished in 5 days. All farmed.

Incidentally, I only went to TH9 after the level 6 troops were released. I would probably still be at TH8 otherwise.

I would like to gem my level six troops but i dont have enough storage. i was planning on farming atleast 4 million exlixr before i gem the rest. Will i be able to gem the troops even though i dont have enough storage? thx

I farmed my archers barbs giants and balloons to max level. I always have an issue of being full at 8m elixer

I apologize in advance if there is a thread about this already. I searched and could not find one. I am curious how many people out there have actually farmed enough elixir for level 6 troops? I just recently farmed the 6 million elixir for level 6 giants and that was quite a daunting task especially with the new loot penalties in place. My next goal is archers but the 7.5 million seems like such a long process with other players raiding and building even cheap armies.

So, did most people with level 6 archers gem them or farm them? And for you farmers, how long did it take to farm enough elixir to get those archers?


I am a level 85 th9 with mostly fully upgraded defense and I am farming in the 1300 range just as a reference.
