Farming for level 6 troops?

I apologize in advance if there is a thread about this already. I searched and could not find one. I am curious how many people out there have actually farmed enough elixir for level 6 troops? I just recently farmed the 6 million elixir for level 6 giants and that was quite a daunting task especially with the new loot penalties in place. My next goal is archers but the 7.5 million seems like such a long process with other players raiding and building even cheap armies.

So, did most people with level 6 archers gem them or farm them? And for you farmers, how long did it take to farm enough elixir to get those archers?


I am a level 85 th9 with mostly fully upgraded defense and I am farming in the 1300 range just as a reference.

I haven't farmed lvl 6 troops as I am a th8 but I often am sitting on max elixir (4 million for me) with no where to put it, so I think it is well within the realm of possibilities to farm for it. Out of curiosity what is your farming army? Perhaps your army is a bit high on the elixir cost?

One of my clan mates gemmed the lab, but actually farmed the elixir. He had his storages full enough to upgrade giants the day of the update and he recently just finished the archers. He is currently upgrading his barbarians.

My farming troops is maxed if I like you go range 1600 at moment is plenty elixir there

I got giants first like you, got archers 6 now and researching barbs 6 without using any gems. All by farming.

It can be done. It didnt take me that long to get the elixir. It definitely took me less than 10 days (research time of giants) to gather enough elixir including storage upgrade for the archers. And right after archers finished, i started barbs 6.

Elixir isnt too bad for TH9 IMHO. Im around 15-1800 cups.

Elixir easy to get I use my 4x elixirs tank as bait ( with incl. giant bomb as a present when they come to close ) is worked well

When I was a th8, I had the same quality problem and when I got to th9, it was like a whole new world with not such an abundance of farming options. Trust me, you will see when you get leveled up.

I feel like my army is as efficient as can be. I use 8-12 level 5 wb, 40 level 5 barbs, sometimes 30 level 5 archers and the rest level 5 goblins.

I guess, I should raise my cup level. I am working on farming the level 6 archers now, I just had to get all 4 camps to max level first. At least it will be a lot of fun to farm as many people as possible to get there.

My TH9 just upgraded yesterday and I managed to save up 6mil elixir so far.
P.S. I'm farming at 1500-1600 trophies. Good luck!
