Walls do not affect hog riders or balloons, so for that it does not matter.
Due to the open space, giants will spread in every direction, making spells very difficult to place. That base design is basically to encourage troop splitting, making spells very ineffective.

I have tried to research an other base like that for th10/9/8 and i have failed so anyone knows some base like that please?
Here is an attack against that base in cw. (His th wasnt protected)
