FORUM GROUPS.
Forum groups are a way to communicate with other forum members and do so as part of a small..group. All forum rules apply to groups.
To find the groups page click ‘Community’ in the navigation bar at the top of the forums and press the "Groups" link.




There are three sections, your groups which contains all the groups you are in, recently updated which shows groups that have been recently active and new groups which shows you new groups that have been formed.





How To Join A Group

Find group you want to join, and click on the name/picture. You should take note of group status (after the name of the group at the top and above the groups picture).

After the group name there will either be nothing, or the words "Invite Only" or "Moderated Group" in brackets.











If a group has nothing after it's name, you can join it straight away. If a group has "Invite Only" after the name, then you must be invited to the group by the group leader. If a group is has "Moderated" after the name then you can request to join the group, and the leader must then either accept or decline your request.

To join, or request to join a group press group tools which is on the top right of the group page and press Join Group.

After Joining A Group

After joining you will be able to post and reply to discussions in your group.

REPORTING.

In this section we will cover reporting. Reporting is in place to alert moderators or administrators about something that violates forum rules or could be considered inappropriate. This section will be split up into three main segments: Reporting posts, reporting PMs, and reporting visitor messages.

REPORTING POSTS

If you see behavior that you consider to be inappropriate or which clearly violates forum rules, please report the post. To report the post press the little triangle at the bottom corners of the post. You can also report PM’s and visitor messages, which will be covered later on in this section.

CrAsH cOuRsE:Reporting a post
1. Recognize an offensive post.
2. Click on the black triangle in the bottom left corner of the post.
3. Type in a report message.
4. Click the ‘Report’ button to submit your report.

Please note that the posts used in the images should not be reported! It is just an example.

Full Site:

If you see an offensive post on the full forum site, use the report button indicated by the orange arrow to report the offending post. Never reply to an offensive post.


Mobile Site:

If you see an offensive post on the mobile forum site, use the report button indicated by the red arrow to report the offending post. Never reply to an offensive post.

Be careful when reporting. If you are in doubt about whether something should be reported it is best not to. It’s safe to report spam and insults but don’t get carried away.

All moderators will get an email when a report is made. We strongly recommend you don’t report a moderator, as members have reported moderators and admins in the past, resulting in a ban of those who did so.

When entering a reason for the report make it detailed (If possible). If it’s just spam then just say “spam” but if there is a bigger reason for the report make sure you give a detailed reason. By reporting spam and rule breaking posts you are making the forums a cleaner place!

Be aware that a moderator receives a message every time a post is reported, so only report messages you are sure contain questionable content. Misuse of the report button can lead to an infraction, or even a ban, as it takes up moderator time to investigate a reported message.

REPORTING PRIVATE MESSAGES

You can also report private messages. Only report private messages if they are spam or they are offensive or they are a privacy invasion. Note, if you are experiencing an invasion of privacy from a member you do not recognize, please report and do not respond. The report button is indicated by the red arrow in the following picture.

Once you press the report button, you will be directed to a message box where you can describe your reason for reporting the private message. Simply type a brief description and press the “Send Report” button.

Misuse of the report button can lead to an infraction, or even a ban, as it takes up moderator time to investigate a reported message.

REPORTING VISITOR MESSAGES
You can also report visitor messages, in addition to PMs and regular posts. We’ll walk you step by step through reporting visitor messages. Never reply to an offensive message.

USER MANUAL QUESTION AND ANSWER!

This section is being constantly updated as new questions about the manual are asked. Q: What is the point of the manual?
A: This manual is here to help all forumers and give tips and advice to all.

Q: The crash course guides work fine for me. Why did you need the picture tutorials as well?
A: The picture tutorials were done to make things easier to understand.

Q: There are already other guides that have the same info. Why did you need to make this?
A: We wanted everything to be in a huge thread that explains everything about the forums for header to footer. We wanted this to be the most detailed guide.

Q: Why do multiple sections contain some of the same tutorials?
A: We wanted to cross reference sections so that the point is made clear and people understand it better. Having the same tutorials or information in multiple section provides redundancy, as some tutorials fall under multiple categories. For example, you can find hyperlinking in both the ‘Other Stuff’ and ‘Posting’ sections, because it falls under each category.

Q: What was the inspiration for the manual?
A: The inspiration from this project came from Ranger3399. In his retirement thread he challenged forumers to come together and create a huge forum guide. This challenge became the user manual.

Think before you post, for every post of yours determines your reputation and other people's perception of you.

Look at even the first page [Of a subforum]for a thread that fits [Your idea]before you create a new thread. We do not [Want to read] the same thread[Topic] over and over by different people. This leads to merges and locks by mods or a sense of being ignored if people don't post in your particular version of the same topic.

Ease up on people with poor grammar, English is not everyone first language here and lots can be lost in translation; focus on the ideas behind the words.

ZACHUVA says:
Try to make friends here. Having people you know and like to talk to makes almost everything more enjoyable.

Don't be afraid to ask for help. If you have a problem or think there are ways that you could improve, there are always people here willing to help.

Don't take disagreements personally. Debates over important issues are awesome, but it's best to win with facts (or informed opinions) than to get caught up in a war of words (which could also get you in trouble).

This section will start with the compilation of crash- course tutorials. The tutorials will be organized in alphabetical order, and will also include where they can be found in the manual (Section and segment).

CRASH COURSE TUTORIAL COMPILATION:

CrAsH cOuRsE: Editing your visitor message
1. Go to the visitor message you wish to edit.
2. Click the ‘Edit’ button.
3. Make the changes you want.
4. Click the ‘Done’ button. You can also delete a visitor message this way by using the ‘delete message’ box at the top of the edit screen.
This tutorial can be found in section 8 segment 2.

CrAsH cOuRsE: Leaving a visitor message
1. Click on a member’s avatar or username to visit their profile
2. Click on the ‘Visitor Messages’ tab next to the ‘Activity’ tab
3. Enter the message you want to leave. Forum rules still apply and the message must be at least ten characters.
4. Click the ‘Post Message’ button.
This tutorial can be found in section 8 segment 2.

CrAsH cOuRsE: Responding to a visitor message
1. Click on the avatar or username of the member who sent you a message
2. Go to their profile and click on the ‘Visitor Messages’ tab.
3. Enter the message you want to leave.
4. Click the ‘Post Message’ button.
You must leave a response to a visitor message on the intended recipient’s profile. Posting a visitor message on your own profile will not give the intended recipient a notification.

CrAsH cOuRsE: Sending or replying to a private message
1. IF SENDING: Click on the ‘Send Private Message’ button on a member’s profile.
IF RESPONDING: Click the ‘Reply to Private Message’ button at the bottom of the message, or type a response in the box below.
2. Enter the intended recipients. Separate member’s names with semi- colons.
3. Enter a title to your message.
4. Create a message.
5. Click the ‘Send Message’ button.
This tutorial can be found in section 8 segment 3.

CrAsH cOuRsE: Clearing your Private Message space
1. Go to ‘settings’ by clicking on ‘settings’ at the top right of the page.
2. Click on ‘inbox’ or ‘sent items’.
3. Select the items you want to delete by checking the box next to them.
4. Scroll down to the ‘Selected Messages’ button and click it.
5. Select delete and click ‘proceed’.
This tutorial can be found in section 8 segment 4.

CrAsH cOuRsE: Deleting a message you left on another member’s profile.
1. Go to the message you want to delete.
2. Click the ‘edit’ button.
3. Click the ‘Go advanced’ button next to the ‘Save’ button.
4. Click the ‘delete message’ button at the top of the page.

CrAsH cOuRsE: Deleting a visitor message (On your own profile)
:1. Go to your profile.
2. Click on the ‘Visitor Messages’ tab.
3. Check the box next to the messages you want to delete.
4. Scroll down to ‘Moderation Tools’ and click on it.
5. Select delete and click proceed, leave a message or chose not to, and click the ‘delete’ button. You can delete any and all visitor messages on YOUR profile.

Boom Beach - Boom Beach is SC’s newest game.
Clash of Clans - Clash of Clans is SC’s most popular and most downloaded game.
Crash Course - The Crash Course is a short summary of the segment/section.
Forum(s) - Each game has it’s own forum which is divided into Sub-forums.
Forum Rules - Every member must adhere to these very important rules found here.
Friends - You can make friends on the forums by sending them requests or accepting theirs.
Hay Day - Hay Day is older than Boom Beach but not as popular as Clash of Clans

FORUM MAP

This segment contains a complete forum map, identifying EVERY part of the forums. Find the answers to your questions about ‘What’s that?’ here. We’ll start with the forum main screen.



1. The supercell logo at the top will return you to the forum main screen. Whenever you enter a specific game’s forum, that game’s logo will appear in place of the supercell logo. Clicking on the game logo will also return you to the forum main screen.

2. Clicking on your username will take you to your user profile.

3. This shows you how many un-read notifications you have. Notifications can be friend requests, private messages, visitor messages, group invites, group join requests, and other notifications depending on how you adjust your settings. The number of unread notifications you have will display in the notification tab.

4. Clicking on this will take you to your user profile.

5. Clicking on this will take you to your user settings. See section X and X for more info on settings.

6. Clicking on this will log you out of the forums.

7. Use the search function to find threads or posts that talk about a topic you’re interested in. Type in the keyword or phrase you want to search for and hit ‘search’. Using the advanced search is a much more effective way of finding a desired post/thread. See the glossary for more about advanced searching.

8. You can navigate using the breadcrumbs. Whenever you enter another part of the forums, you can retrace your steps using breadcrumbs.

9. Clicking on this will take you to a page displaying the newest posts from anywhere on the forum. Use this to see the newest posts or discussions. Once you click on this button, you will be taken to a page like this:

The posts that are displayed in the global activity feed show you the most recent posts from anywhere on the forums. With each post, it shows you the title of the thread it was posted in, how many replies and views it has, the person who posted last on it, and what subforum the post was made in.

A. As you can see, the breadcrumbs tracks your progress. Clicking on the house icon will return you to the forum main page.
B. Clicking on this will take you to the forum activity stream- the same as this page, but displaying more infor about the post and poster, including the poster’s avatar.
C. Clicking on this will return you to this page if you have clicked on C, D, or E.
D. This will display any new group messages since the last time you viewed groups.
E. Unfortunately, events are disabled for the time being, as the calendar feature has been disabled by forum administrators. Were the calendar enabled, you would be able to see any new events that members have entered into the calendar. The calendar feature was disabled due to lack of interest/use.

10. Clicking on this will take you to the FAQ page, where you can use a search function to search words or phrases you have questions about.

A. The FAQ is split up into three major categories: General usage, settings and profile features, and reading/posting messages. Clicking on any of the general categories will give you a list of all the sub- categories that fall under the main topic. The FAQ covers most, but not all, forum information. It is extremely easy to use and simple to find information.
B. Use the search bar to enter a term you want to search for.
C. You can use this to change your search methods- searching by title or by all text.
D. You can use this to chose how your search results are displayed- displaying results that contain any words in your search term, all of the words in your search term, or complete, unbroken phrases in your search term.
E. Use the search button to search using your chosen parameters, or use the reset button to reset the search parameters.

11. Click on Community and a small box with four links will appear.
A. The Groups link will take you to the groups page. Here, you can find your groups, the most recently updated groups, the group search, and the button to start a new group. See more about groups in section 10.
B. The Albums link will take you to the albums page. Here, you can look at the most recently updated photo albums as well as your albums. You also will have the option to create your own album. See more about albums in section 10.
C. This link quickly takes you to the Friends and Contacts section of the Settings. Here, you can see your friends, remove them, and add new ones. You will also have access to the other links in your Settings.
D. The Members List link quickly takes you to an alphabetized list of every Supercell forum member that ever existed. Here, you will be able to access every members’ profile and search for individual members. See more about other members in section 7.
12. Click on Forum Actions and a small box with three links will appear.

A. The Mark Forums Read link marks every single thread in the Supercell forums marked read. You can tell if a thread is marked read if it has a grey title instead of a black one. This will make the forums look as if you have clicked on/read every single thread, getting rid of the exclamation marks next to certain games and their subforums, and dulling the color of all threads until a new post is made in them.
B. The General Settings link quickly navigates you to your general settings. Here, you can edit your Login & Privacy, Messaging & Notification, Thread Display Options, Date & Time Options, and Miscellaneous Options. See more about settings in section 6.
C. The Edit Profile link quickly navigates you to your profile. Here, you can edit your Registration Required Information, Optional Information, and Additional Information.
13. Click on Quick Links and a small box with five links will appear.

A. The Today’s Posts link does the same thing as the New Posts link. It takes you directly to the new posts page. Here, you can see the most recent posts in the entire Supercell forums.
B. Clicking on ‘Subscribed threads’ will take you to the ‘my subscriptions’ section of your settings, where you can view what threads you’ve subscribed to, as well as the last post on that thread and more info. See more about subscribed threads in sections 5 and 6.
C. The Open Contacts Pop Up will open a pop-up showing all of your contacts. In addition to showing all of your contacts, it will also display which contacts are online at the top of the page. See more about contact pop- ups in section 7.

D. The View Site Leaders link takes you to the show groups page. Here, you can see all of the moderators and developers behind the Supercell forums and their respective rankings. See more about site leaders in section 9.
E. The Who’s Online link takes you to the who’s online page. Here, you can see an alphabetical list of every user who is online (unless the user has invisible mode activated). See more about invisibility mode in section 6.

14. Clicking on the ‘What’s new’ tab takes you to the same page as clicking on the ‘new posts’ tab.

NOTE: Number 15,16, and 17 are all in the category of FORUM WIDE official information/subforums. Nothing for individual games is posted here, nor should be posted here.

15. This subforum is for official supercell announcements, concerning the entire forums. Individual game announcements will be displayed in each games respective subforum.

16. Here, you can share your ideas for the forum just like the game idea subforums. Be especially sure to read the stickies though to make sure that your idea fits the requirements.

17. This subforum contains the Forum- Wide rules. Breaking these rules can bring punishments. See more about the forum rules in section 2.

18. Click here to go to the Clash of Clans subforums. For more info on each of the game subforum screens, see the segments below.

19. Click here to go to the Hay Day subforums. For more info on each of the game subforum screens, see the segments below.

20. Click here to go to the Boom Beach subforums. For more info on each of the game subforum screens, see the segments below.

21. Here, you can see who is online! You’re name will be listed first, and then, in alphabetical order, you will see


1. The announcements sub-forum contains a series of threads that give the latest clash of clans news. You are not able to create a thread in this sub-forum, but you can reply to the threads that the developers have made.
2. The clan wars sub-forum is where you can talk all about clan wars. You can give an idea, give your opinion, or just show off your clan’s war history.
3. The ideas and features request sub-forum is probably the most active sub-forum on the entire Supercell forums. Here is where you can recommend ideas to be added to Clash of Clans. Be especially sure to read the stickies in this sub-forum as guidelines for idea-posting are given.
4. Clan talk is where you can advertise your clan to the forums.
5. The creativity sub-forum is where you can post any creative stuff that is related to clash of clans. If you have a cool, creative base be sure to post it in this sub-forum.
6. Clash of Clans contests is a place to start and join contests.
7. Support and Help contains links to all the frequently asked questions and help issues.
8. New to Clash? Well this is the place for you. Come here to ask any questions to get you on the road to success.
9. Got an awesome raiding strategy? Share it with the forums in the Questions, Strategies, and Tactics sub-forum.
10. Wanna show off an awesome raid? Post your awesome raid or defense in this sub-forum and look at other peoples amazing achievements.
11. If you are experiencing any issues with Clash of Clans, post your concerns in this sub-forum for guidance.
